Hi I am so excited as we have just booked a 16 night cruise on the Island Star for March 2009. I have never been on a Island crusie but my daughter and her partner have and they said it was great. I would love to read some reviews from anybody that has been recentley

We sailed on the Island Star last year and the year before. This is the only line we have cruised with so far although we are doing NCL this year. The Island Star was brilliant, very good value for money. We enjoyed the food, the entertainment and all the trips we went on. Whay itinery are you doing, is it one of the Carribean ones?

Hi, thanks for your reply, we are doing a transatlantic from Barbado to the med, we are traveling with our daughter and her partner which I am really looking forward to as it must be about 6 years ago when we were last on holiday with our daughter. The cruise is 16 nights and we have a standard balcony cabin on Golden deck towards the back, do you know if what these cabins are like

Hi

I've been on the Star twice now and am booked to go again in June.

I love Island Cruises as they are such a fun cruiseline and they are really geared up to the British traveller.

The staff are always friendly and very helpful and can't do enough for you.

The food was really good and there was always a good choice.

The entertainment was very good and there was a wide variety of it - production shows, guest artists, comedian, spotlight cabarets, game shows, bingo and of course kareoke!

I hope you have a great time.

Regards

Your overall description sounds very much like Ocean Village.

We just did a N.E.Caribbean cruise on Ocean Village Two and enjoyed it very much.

There's very little conversational traffic in here, isn't there!

and the only reason I'm here now

is that my local cruise agent people have just offered me

a good deal on an Island Cruise out of Barbados(where I live)

on Dec. 4th. 2008 - and so I'm showing some interest!

Over on the OV board, there's FAR more traffic in discussion, daily..

I reckon that says something.

What's it with Island cruises that no-one seems interested enough to talk,

even though your report above(two cruises worth) sounds positive and uplifting.

Incidentally,

there are FOUR Cruisecritic Member Reviews for Island Escape at...

and just one for Island Star at..

http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/getreviews.cfm?action=ship&ShipID=403

I also see a ship named Island Princess listed,

but in view of its 118 reviews,

clearly this is not the same cruise line, am I right??

Since you've been on Star twice now

you might want to add your voice to the lone review for that ship!

If you feel the urge, go to...

and start the process right there in the middle of the page

where you'll see ...

That would help everyone make their minds up, no?
