39august Posted September 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2004 Does anyone know the cost and time for a taxi for 2 from the Dockyards to Somerset village? Also, I have read that bus time to Horseshoe beach is about 20 min. from the dockyard. But where is the bus stop located? And how much would a taxi be? Thanks for any info. OH, and is anything open at the Dockyards in the evenings?
smeyer418 Posted September 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2004 The taxi to Horseshoe is about $25.00-30.00 There is a bus that goes around the dockyard every 15 minutes that will take you to the bus stop.(hint if you are going to take a cab take the free bus to the shopping area its easier to get a cab there) Cabs line up from the beach back as well. The bus stop leaving is right by the ferry boats(about 100 yards from the ship). There is a bus shelter by the bus stop. At Horseshoe the bus leaves you by the road and its a good 1/4 of the mile from the road down to the beach(its ok down but too much up). There is a Jitney up and down for $1.00 pp. Unless you are doing a lot of busing or Ferrying.. you can buy 15 bus tickets(4 zone) for $25.00 or a 13 per day pass and a 35 for three days...If you bus back from the beach that leaves you a long way from the ship...wait for the dockyard free bus it will bring you back to the ship... there is at least one restuarant and a convenience store that stays open until about 8 got it? get it? good!
