Loves Snorkeling Posted January 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2008 I am debating on taking the bus tour to El Yunque after our cruise arrives or renting a car to get there. Our flight home only leaves at 5pm, so we have some time to kill. If you did this tour, were you satisfied? Did you have enought time to see what you wanted in the park? What time did you return to the airport? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks,
negc Posted January 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2008 We enjoyed the tour but we took it when San Juan was a port of call on one of our RCI cruises and we didn't want to risk the possibility of traffic delays getting back to the ship before she left for our next port of call. If you pretty much have all day, you might prefer to rent a car and visit the rain forest on your own. Enroute to and from El Yunque, our guide provided us with a running commentary about San Juan and its history so that made the trip even more interesting than if we had done the trip on our own.:)
a-tx-brit Posted January 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2008 We were seated on a new bus for about 20 mins. waiting for it to fill up, then moved to a larger old bus with poor a/c. No shocks either, we found out as soon as we started off!!! We were all quite hot by the time we reached the base of the base of the mountain. Now the driver tells us to open the windows...his a/c won't work driving uphill. We also found out his brakes overheated coming down hill! We spent 1 to 1 1/2 hours in the rain forest. Got back to the airport at about 2:00p.m. cases were out in the open, they did not come on the bus with us. Here's some photos we took. http://picasaweb.google.com/atxbrit/AdventureOfTheSeas111107?authkey=yD6t8Jn_MrU
