Pre Paid Gratuities Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just pre paid my gratuities so we don't have to worry about amounts looming over our heads at the end. My itinerary from the online travel agency I booked with lists it as additional trip items price. I don't see an area to indicate that I paid on RCCL, either. So being a worrywart, just want to ask if this is standard? Will RCCL deny I paid it? Just hoping it shows up somewhere as paid.....

You know, I've never done the prepay thing, but am wondering if this would show up in your cruise docs when you get them? (I understand this wouldn't apply to the OP as they are sailing in 9 days and would already have them) Anyone?

The prepaid gratuities have always shown up on the RCI documents. A quick call to Crown & Anchor ( 800 525 9723 ) with your reservation number might produce an answer ..... but since the cruise is thru an agent they may not be willing to speak to you directly.

Get a receipt from your TA and bring it with you so you have proof. Just have them email it to you.

That's what I would do, Sue L.

We have always done the prepay thing and never had any problems BUT they were always specifically listed as gratuities in the online documents (back when we didn't book direct with RCI) Problems with TAs in general is why we decided to book direct with RCI. Of course each to their own and that is stuff for other threads. ;) Enjoy :)

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I already got my documents - I actually wasn't sure if they would allow it at this time. But my agent called them while I was on the phone with her, and they gave her the amount and then they added it. She emailed me my new itinerary with the $117 on there, so I'll bring that with me just in case.

We paid for everything outright when we made the reservation. The cruise, the airfare (so cheap 7 months out!) the hotel, excursions, wine and champagne for the room and dinner - everything. We like to go into our vacation all paid off so there is no huge bills afterward. Just makes us feel better, I guess. We actually hit for $5,000 on a lottery ticket and thats what made us get the vacation. We had one booked a year ago but ended up canceling it. We figured if it was all paid, we wouldn't cancel so quick again!:D

Now it'll just be alcohol and other random things like gambling (not huge gamblers) and souveniers. No big credit card bill coming in the future.....:)
