BLUEROSEKY Posted January 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2008 The question I have is, if you are using cash for you s&s account, when and where do you give them the money? During registration at embarkation or do you have to go to the pursers desk once on board? Could someone please clue me in? Thanks, Karen
caribbean dreams Posted January 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2008 Some ships you go to the Pursers deck, but i have been hearing lately that there will be a table set up in a certain area of the ship. When you check in and tell them you will be using cash, they will be able to direct you in the right direction. Have a great cruise!!!!
cruisinjerseygirl Posted January 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2008 Our last cruise we did it at embarkation and when we ran out we got a note from the pursar to come back down and fill it up. If they allow you to do it at the embarkation do it there because once you board the line at the pursar's desk is very long.
Boatdrill Posted January 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2008 At check-in (before you get on the ship) tell the check-in agent that you will be settling on your onboard account with cash. When you fill out your sign and sail form, simply write CASH in the box where it asks for a credit card number, and give it to the agent with the rest of your cruise documents. You won't give the agent any cash, you'll do that onboard. Within 24 hours of getting on the ship, go to the front desk (aka Purser's desk) and give them the required deposit in cash (the amount required varies between how many days the cruise is). You do not need to do this immediately when you get onboard ! Wait until later that night or the next day when it's not so crowded at the front desk/purser's desk. Don't worry, you will be able to use your sign and sail card to buy items onboard from the minute you step onboard, even if you haven't given them a cash deposit yet. And if, during the cruise, you change your mind and decide to settle your onboard account with a credit card, just go by the front desk and arrange it with them.
