How to get to Sawgrass?

We are staying pre-cruise at the BW Oceanside and am wondering what the best way is to get to Sawgrass for some shopping?

Is there any comparable shopping closer to our hotel?

Nothing compares to the Sawgrass Mills. It's the largest retail & entertainment center in Florida, features more than 350 name-brand stores. It's located at the crossroads of West Sunrise Blvd. and Flamingo Road just 15 miles from the Fort Lauderdale International Airport

Car rental would be the quickest and easiest way to get there, it's about 25 minutes west of your hotel.

Public bus is doable, expect the journey to take about an hour and forty five minutes to two hours each way.

Take the Bus 'FTL_BCT40' from Holiday Dr-State Hwy A1A

Get off at E Sunrise Blvd-State Hwy A1A - TRANSFER

Take the Bus 'FTL_BCT36' from State Hwy A1A-E Sunrise Blvd

Get off at NW 127th Ter-W Sunrise Blvd - Sawgrass Mills Stop

Wow- thanks for the great response Bequia. I think I will rent a car. Any recommendations for rentals? While i'm at it, seeing that you're the expert on this area, are there any eating establishments such as Montana's, TGIFriday... around the BW Oceanside?

There's a Budget office on SE 17th Street in the Quay Plaza, a few minutes from your hotel. In the same neighborhood on SE 17th street there's dozens of eating establishments to choose from. Best way to get there from your hotel is the Sun Trolley, it runs by your hotel every 15 minutes, it's only 50 cent, let's you on and off wherever you want.

Do you know how much cab fare would be from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Sawgrass Mills. We are thinking of going to the airport from the port store our luggage then go over to Sawgrass Mills. Our flight doesn't leave until 5:30pm

Based on current cab fares, the 20 minute ride from FLL to Sawgrass Mills would run around $40 each way plus tip. You could rent an economy car at the airport for under $40. It's an easy drive from the airport to Sawgrass, impossible to get lost. ;)
