Frandick Posted January 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I will be on the Crystal Serenity in May with a stop in Triste. What is there to see and do there? Would it be an all day trip or is a half day enough? I like to relax and use the amenities on the ship too so if it's not worth a lot of time that would be ok. jeanlyon Posted January 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2008 I have been to Trieste, it's a lovely city to walk around, see the cathedral and other things. I would do it by yourself, rather than taking an excursion.
maryella Posted February 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2008 We will also be stopping in Trieste from the Serenity (June 25th sailing) and I was wondering the same thing. How far from the town does the ship dock?
Mike Andrews Posted February 8, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2008 The ship should dock right in the Town with easy access to central Trieste
treesah Posted February 9, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2008 I would highly recommend visiting the Miramare Castle, of the Maximilian and Carlotta fame. The setting is magnificent. I was there in 1989 while backpacking in Europe and it's etched in my mind as if I had been there yesterday.
fredzep Posted February 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2008 I have heard from friends that it is a charming seaport city across the bay from Venice. Planning on spending 4 days there before a cruise leaving from Venice. The city and sights are near the port. here is the link for photos http://eeyore.astro.uiuc.edu/mypics/trieste.html
