Just Off the Majesty of the Seas!!

Recommended Posts

Hello All-

I was just on the Majesty 1/21-01/25-here is a summary, feel free to ask questions--I would love to help........

Got on Monday out of Miami-went around 2pm(so did everyone else)check in moved right along-had to fill out a health questionairre regarding stomach bugs...

Muster drill was held at 4:30pm in the rain:(had the early seating at dinner that night-food was good all week, (i forget my meal that night)...sailing to Nassau was rocky, and they had barf bags all over the ship-but I never got sick nor did the other 2 couples I was with...

Our cabin was on deck 2-it was fine-I had heard how small the cabins were on the Majesty, but it was fine for me and my boyfriend-and for the cost of the cruise

Day 2 -Nassau-

We booked a room at the Comfort Suites on Paradise Island and spent the day at Atlantis-AWESOME-I would do this again and again...we spent the day in their water park and had an absolute blast.. the slides and pools close at 5...so we went to our room at comfort suites and got showered up and then to the casino at Atlantis -BEAUTIFUL-we ate poolside for lunch and at the Casino's small restaurant-be warned its very expensive, but we expected that..Got back to the ship around 8 and ate at the Windjammer which was good(we missed formal night) oh well

Day 3 Coco Cay

Everyday we ate breakfast in the Windjammer and that was really good...got off the ship around 10 for Coco Cay-beautiful sunny day, it was a blast-we snorkeled for $15 each-played volleyball and layed in the sun.. bought a couple of island drinks=which go on your sea pass=brought no cash to the island &there is a small straw market that you could buy souvenirs at but I had no $$ on me-oh well....awesome day overall-the bbq was just Ok....nothing exceptional got back to the boat at 2ish-boyfriend entered the belly flop contest-and it was a blast hanging by the pool for the rest of the afternoon....dinner was Italian night-I had the chicken marsala-excellent

Day 4 Key West

I was contemplating not getting off the boat this stop, but my boyfriend talked me into it...we didnt' have a planned excursion.. we walked ALL around town and shopped and ate, drank....etc... we walked down Duval Street to Margarittaville..stopped at random stores...went to the southermost point then went back to the ship....

Day 5

Carried our own bags off the ship at 7:15-that was great... no waiting....

Customs boarded our boat in Key West and everyone was called to the the theater by their deck number to have their passports checked-this was very surprisingly organized!! We only waited 5 minutes they check your passport then they hole punch your sea pass card-EASY

**We spent very little money on this cruise about 250 each... so I didn't know what to expect...I would recommend this to anyone and want to do this one again!!!

Enjoy

The room at the comfort suites for 4 adults was $330...I booked it months ago..

The nightlife on the boat was great-its what you make of it..they had a 70's dance party one night that was a blast....there were different dance parties every night-I am sooo tired!! You will have so much fun!

How many nights are casual and how many formal? Was the Nassau night formal? Did people dress really formal???? I am thinking of booking the Majesty with my cousin and her daughter. I have also read how small the cabins are....Have you cruised on any other ship? How did the Majesty compare?

Thanks so much for everything! The carryoff own luggage makes me feel better about getting a taxi and flight early out of Miami.

Hi,

Out of curiosity, do you remember what your cruise director's name was? We're trying to find out if Abe might be on Majesty. We liked him a lot and aren't sure where he went to.

Thanks,

Lynn from South Florida

I didn't hear any mention of Norovirus.

There was one formal night and it was Tuesday the day I was in Nassau. We didnt make it back for dinner-but we did see people all decked out-women in gowns and men in suits.........I thought some people were way overdressed but that is my own opinion.

We got off at 7:15 and took a taxi to Ft. Lauderdale Airport for a 11 am flight back to boston-we were really early but we made it.

We will be taking a cab as well to FLL for our flight, can you tell me what the cost was to get there and how was the traffic on the way back.

You mentioned your snorkelled for $15pp. Did you and your boyfriend just share use of the provided snorkel gear that is $30.00 for all days use?

They may have brought their own snorkels and masks. That's what we did, and it cost $15 each to rent just fins and vests.

was the water in the pools on the ship fresh water or sea water?

We were on the Freedom in January and they had fresh water in the pools and they were COLD. When we were on the Serenade they had sea water in the pools and it was wonderful.

We just returned from a B2B on Majesty 1/25 -2/1. We loved her and had a great time. We would sail on her again in a heartbeat.

We're doing a b2b on the Majesty too, what was the process for clearing customs on Monday morning on the turnaround day? How long did you have the ship to yourself before the new passengers started boarding?

Thanks for the review. We are booked in June and I was a little nervous, about the age of the boat and it being a short cruise. I feel much better about it now. Can't wait until June.

Thanks again:rolleyes:

There was an Abe on Brilliance in December. Don't know his last name though.

I will always remember Majesty with great fondness. She was my very first cruise ever. We got some cabin that for some reason had been designated a suite, even though it wasn't. It had two bathrooms and the most immense balcony. We were invited to dine with the Captain and had a bridge tour and a sailaway watch from the bridge. It couldn't have been more special for my first time at sea, and of course, it got me hooked. :D
