embassy suites in san juan??

Thanks for the info! We're looking for a pre-cruise hotel that will accomodate us as well as our daugher and her friend. Do all rooms/suites have sofa beds? Are they fairly comfortable? We arrive in S.J. late Saturday night June 14th. Our Destiny cruise leaves port Sunday night. Looking for a nice place to relax by the pool on SUnday.

Thanks!

It has been 2years since we stayed there and the sofa beds were passable at that time. We had a suite with 2 doubles and a sofa bed in the living room area of the suite and it worked out very well. All suites have sofas and I imagine they would all be sleepers. Call the toll free # for ES to be sure.

The pool area is very nice and should foot the bill for a nice pool side retreat while waiting for your cruise. Their breakfasts are good too. Nice restaurants in the area within walking distance too for dinner. We grabbed some pizza on the "main drag" a few blocks to the left (if you face the water) and ate at the outside seating area.

MiCasitas is a casual place to eat- we had happy hour there with some snacky foods (nachos, wings, etc) but did not order off the menu. Lupi's is good mexican food and had nice cruise style coctails w/souvenier plastic glasses. Hmmm, happy hour, margaritas. Sounds like we had a theme for our pre-cruise stay, huh?

Enjoy the neighborhood. Be sure to take a walk-thru of the large hotel/casinos across the street from ES, great for window shopping at the super expensive boutiques and jewelry stores.

Booked this hotel today for June 14th. Went with the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a late checkout? Ship doesn't leave port until 10:00 pm. Would be nice if we could hang a few hours past the normal noon checkout.

Yes, the Embassy Suites in San Juan has a laundry room. Cannot remember the exact price, but somewhere around $1.50 to wash.

I wonder if they still have the laundry room? Staying there post cruise in January

We have stayed there every year for the past several years and they still had a laundry room (as of last Feb). Prices have gone up, but it is still very convenient.

Good to know. After a week at sea it will be good to do some laundry and cheaper than paying on the ship!
