You can't really visit anything good at Atlantis unless you are staying there or on an excursion. The pools, waterslides, beach and lagoon (fabulous) are closed to those without the bracelets. I think the Dig (very cool, especially for kids) is also closed to you. You might be able to walk through the casino with the kids and perhaps go to a restaurant - but that is it.

With the two adults and 5(!) kids - your most sensible option would be to buy a room at Atlantis for the day and cab over. Not sure what sort of room accommodates 7, but I expect it would be less expensive than the excursion fare for that many persons.

I will say that Atlantis was exceptionally fun for my then 5 year old (a good swimmer) and I know that at 8 - she will have a great time, and my 2.5 yr old will too. We bought the full day Aquaventure because we wanted to be able to go everywhere.

Hi Frazzys! We are sailing on the Gem in 2 weeks and we booked the Comfort Suites Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas room for $347/night, includes passes to Atlantis Resort, compared to almost $600 for the full Atlantis excursion through NCL! Even though check in isn't until 3pm, you can get the passes earlier, I made I asked that! From the sounds of it, this is done all the time with cruisers. Hey, they don't care if you stay overnight, they get their money, ya know. Plus, you do have full use of the room whenever you need it. Saves a bunch of money this way. Check it out, let me know how you make out!

Hey Frazzy. I see you joined the Roll call! For some reson it isn't very large. (maybe the ship will be empty!) We walked from the beach to the Atlantis just to check it out but that was it. We were alble to walk around some parts of it but no one ever said anything to us. I think booking a room like Suegllnt said is the way to go if you don't want to pay the high price of a shore excursion. If you just want to look you can try just walking in and see what happens. Glad your coming aboard!:)
