fundayz Posted January 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2008 We will be on our honeymoon when we sail to Alaska this summer. And I have a few questions about dinning. Can we reserve a table for 2 for dinner in anytime dinning or one of the special dinning rooms? We don't want to dine alone every night, but romantic dinners sound so great (We are coming home to blending our kids together in one home. We do want a romantic cruise. Can balcony dinning be requested on the day that you want it or does it have to be arranged in advance? We are thinking of days we are sailing may be good times, but don't want to commit, since we don't know what the weather will be like. Thanks for your help! LARGIN Posted January 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2008 Yes on getting a table for 2 as we do it all the time.. Not sure about the balcony dining thing but I think so as long as it is not the first or the last night of the cruise. We will be on the Coral starting May 10th for a b2b2b Alaska cruise
ggprincess2004 Posted January 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2008 A table for 2 in anytime dining is possible - suggest you call the dine line and request a table for 2 early in the day. They are happy to reserve in the 6ish time frame and the after 8 time frame. They generally will not take reservations in the 6:30 to 7:45 time frame. If you get a table and server that you enjoy, try to reserve that table every evening. On the Coral, depending upon the head waiter and the maitre'd, that may be quite simple -it was for us. But, you may encounter a situation where you have to call and request it every day. We enjoyed a table for 2 for dinner every evening. Since breakfast and lunch are opening seating in the dining room, we had interesting conversations with new people during those meals most days that we were not on a shore excursion. Also, great conversation at afternoon tea - try to make it at least once if you can. Hope that helps.
travelingman Posted January 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2008 I would suggest pushing the "honeymoon" part of the cruise in requesting a table for a "romantic diiner" for 2. It should not hurt your chances in getting a table for two. Good Luck and best of wishes in your new life together. Stan
