Why no summer cruise from Miami to Caribbean ?

I am wondering why NCL does not cruise from Miami to Caribbean from late April to late October?

I am trying to look for a cruise at this time of a year but cannot find anything. Isn’t that winter is too cold and crowded and expensive in the Caribbean?

Not just NCL but most lines either leave altogether or only sail a few ships to the Caribbean from mid April til Oct. The market is better sailing to Bermuda, Alaska and the Meditaranian. Cruise prices are the lowest from Sept to early Dec except for Thanksgiving week and again the frist couple of weeks in Jan followed by late Apr til they leave the Caribbean.

June 1st. til Nov. 30 is called Hurricane season. Besides the prices in Europe are far more profitable than in the Caribbean. Other cruise lines still sail during the summer in the Caribbean however.

Its a little of both, too many hurricanes during the summer months, along with the fact that European, South American, Bermuda, and Alaskan cruises earn twice as much for the cruise lines. Since NCL is a smaller cruise line than others, it has to send their ships where there are more revenues. Supply and demand, plus good business are the reasons why NCL departs the Caribbean during the summer months, except for ships sailing from New York.

When its hot, they sail north. When its cold, they sail south.

Too Many Huricanes And Storms.
the hurricane season has far less to do with the Miami sailings than the demand for the ships to venture into different waters. 20 years ago every line sailed year around out of Florida, as Don says, even the larger lines have many fewer itineraries leaving out of florida during the summer months. Until about 10 or 15 years ago crusing meant Caribbean, some Alaska, Bermuda, a few NewEngland cruises, a few Mexican Riv and a few in Europe. Now, as we all know there are all kinds of itineraries, leaving from places we never thought of until recently. The ships can only spread themselves so thin.
