do i have to wear dresses for the formal nights dining or is dress pants and top ok:)

Welcome to Cruise Critic Giglebug,

Dress pants and top are fine.

Dress up as if you were going to an occasion at home. If you are a cocktail dress or ballgown wearer, do that. If you are a top & pants girl, that is equally OK on Aussie cruises.

If you'd like to really dress up, many ladies were long gowns. I usually wear a cocktail dress but have worn dress pants and evening top once. A lot of ladies book for their hair to be done at the hairdressers also.

I found the diversity of formal wear was great, from long gowns to pants & top for women, full on tuxedo's, lounge suits to pants & shirt for men.

It really is a personal thing. If your comfortable wearing pants & top then do it. There won't be a dress **** standing at the door to see if dressed appropriately.

Cheers

Long skirt and top; dress pants and top; long dress; cocktail dress - whatever suits you. You won't feel out of place whatever you wear because there is such an assortment of dressing styles. Just wear what you feel comfortable in, and enjoy.:):)

Marg,

You found out about auto-moderation. I think I know the word (n*z*) that was used, but certain elements in the US have that on their politically incorrect list.

Cheers
