pog27 Posted February 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2008 I just booked the May 5th sailing of the Crown Princess out of Ft Lauderdale transatlantic to Copenhagen and was looking to see where the ship was coming from. Looking on princess.com it looks like the previous cruise is round trip San Juan 7 nights leaving April 26 which would mean it will sail from San Juan to Ft Lauderdale unoccupied. I can't imagine there would be a 2 night charter. I thought ships sailed with passengers no matter what except for a dry dock. Does this mean I can expect earlier boarding and cabins to be ready immediately? I'm hoping it would also mean the ship will be cleaned top to bottom and should be sparking. roe2ship Posted February 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2008 Sometimes ships do sail "crew only" when repositioning is just a couple of days in between. I don't think you can expect to be boarding before 11:30 am at the earliest. Ships are cleaned top to bottom even when 3000 pax just got off, so you can bet on a very sparkling ship. SeanCU79 Posted February 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2008 Can you say "PSVA"? Aren't allowed to carry passengers betwenn two US Ports. That was my bet as well. Dawn Princess is doing the same thing in May when it repositions from San Diego to San Francsico.
