jojo08 Posted February 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2008 First I book with a TA and my cruise is in about 3 weeks, when can I expect to get some paper work. I know she said she would register us and everything and then mail me there things I needed. And what are the things I need, what paperwork do you get? Next question, I was thinking I read somewhere they don't bring soft drinks to your room for room service is that right or wrong? Trying to decide if I need to take a few drinks, but I don't want to pack them?
PhoenixCruiser Posted February 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2008 Room service will bring beverages to your cabin. ###
cb at sea Posted February 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2008 All you will need to board is your reservation number and your ID's. Oh, and money!!!! Luggage tags (for the ship) can be obtained at the dock. Call the TA and see what they have for you--3 weeks out, everything should be in order! You can get the sodas out of your mini-fridge...that's what they're there for! I mean, it'll cost you (and be added to your room charges--about $2.00 per can). You don't HAVE to buy the soda card to buy a can of soda on the ship!
Cincy-David Posted February 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2008 Howdy and welcome to the wide world of cruising. You will soon be hooked. It sounds like this might be your first cruise. As for paperwork, expect something anyday. It normally takes about 10 days to get documents processed after booking so close to sail date. As for the soda, Room Service will bring it. Depending on your value of the dollar you can pay thier price (Close to $2.00 by the time they add an automatic tip) for a can, or you can pack some and bring it on board with you. If you are coming in the night before, just go to a local carry out on your way to port and check it one of your bags. Then you won't have to carry through the airport. What ship and destinations are you doing???? Happy Cruising Dave
Rancher Dave Posted February 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2008 For our first cruise we booked less than 2 months out, probably more like 4-5 weeks out from the cruise. We had our paperwork about 10-14 days before the cruise, but in plenty of time. I would not panic until less than 2 weeks to go and then definitely check with TA...if they have mailed them they probably can tell you what day and then y'all can gauge if they are in the mail or overdue. HAve a great cruise!!!!

jojo08 Posted February 15, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted February 15, 2008 Were going on March the 6th. On NOS yes it's my first cruise so I'm trying to learn everything. It's just a 4 day as I will be leaving my son at hom (17 months old). I think 5 days is all I can handle without him being around. Plus I want to just a feel for cruises as next year I want my partents to plan one.
bubbie617 Posted February 15, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2008 I would suggest that you check with your TA. E-docs may be available that you can print out yourself. In fact, booking so close to sailing date, you may not get any other kind of documents. I know you can get on the ship with just your Express Pass, your passport and a credit card, but I like to have documents. (I know I'm crazy:eek: .) JJJSM, I know what you mean I'm worried about leaving him, but he will be with my parents, I'm more worried about me missing him then anything.
