k8gscruisers Posted February 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2008 This may be a stupid question, but here goes. First time sailing on Carnival. Can you ask your room steward to empty out your mini fridge when you arrive? We did this on our Royal Caribbean cruise this summer and it was nice to have the space in the fridge for water bottles and such. We are not using any of the mini bar items and don't want to chance getting charged for them. I didn't want to assume all cruise lines act the same. jleq Posted February 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Steward will empty....but Fascination won't have one
firefly333 Posted February 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2008 The Fantasy ships dont have fridges, but the Conquest ships do, not sure which ship you are asking about? The refrigerator will be locked when you arrive, if you leave it locked then there is no chance of being charged for anything in it. Its up to you to request your cabin steward to take the lock off. tooexcitedtogo Posted February 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Ok, I have the same question about the Pride. DH and I are going on our first cruise in 11 days and I would like to have the fride emptied so that I can put my own stuff into it. We have a 7a, will we have a fridge and if so will they empty it? THanks
yst347 Posted February 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2008 All cabins on the Pride have mini-bars. We always ask our steward to remove the mini-bar items. Most times this isn't a problem but once the steward told us he had no where else to store them. We placed the cans in our closet and showed him where they were and not to replace anything...all was good.
tooexcitedtogo Posted February 20, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2008 Thank you for your quick reply. Would you say they are big enough to store a bottle of wine? Or a small box of wine? Thanks again..

juniorcop Posted February 20, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2008 I sailed on the Pride in 2004. The steward moved everything out of the fridge and placed on a shelf in a cabinet next to minibar. We smuggled our own stuff on board and we actually were hiding it in that same cabinet. Steward didn't take our stash and we didn't get charged for anything he took out of fridge (we didn't drink any of it). We kept our stash cool in the minibar but no room for a bottle of wine. Room for a flask or airplane bottles or cans. Bottles of beer if you set them on side. Same set up as on Conquest. Jennie

k8gscruisers Posted February 20, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted February 20, 2008 We are in a suite on the Fascination . I think there are fridges in the suites. Just want to make sure I could have it emptied, because we will want to use the space.

neverpar Posted February 20, 2008 #14 Share Posted February 20, 2008 What exactly is in the mini fridge on Spirit class ships? A few cans of Soda, some Rum (mini's) Scotch, Vodka and I think a few bottles (small) of water...
tha sista Posted February 20, 2008 #15 Share Posted February 20, 2008 Just off the spirit...the steward couldn't empty the fridge for us as no place to store the contents...You can move them and put them back... FYI this is the first fridge that actually kept things cool. Seems like they got the ventilation right on this one. No fridge on celebration, I think I remember fridge on Destiny? Legend for sure..Have fun on your cruise!!!

G.C Posted February 20, 2008 #18 Share Posted February 20, 2008 To the OP when we sailed on the Fascination two years ago in a cat.12 the mini fridge was empty not stocked. On all of our Fantasy class cruises (7) cat.12`s the mini fridge has always been empty. On our Conquest class cruises they have been stocked. We took some of the cans out for more space told the steward and replaced them before we left no problems.
