Buying diamonds on St. Maarten?

I've heard that St. Thomas is great, but how about St. Maarten? We have so many plans for St. Thomas, and yet I'd like to some jewely shopping/purchasing.

Another question, do any of you know if you can trade up on a new ring? My DH bought me a diamond ring and the darn thing keeps breaking prongs, which then inturn looses a diamond! I've had to replace 3 diamonds in 1 1/2 years!

 

Looking at getting a more "reliable" diamond ring.

I shop at Grand Jewelers in St. Marten all the time and have traded up rings and earrings on several occassions. I usually work with Sonny or Mickey and have gotten some great deals.

DH and I have shopped for years at Kay's Jewelers on Front Street and have acquired many magnificant pieces. They have loads of diamond rings that you can trade up to. They are extremely reliable and totally stand behind their product.

 

Tell them the Keefer's sent you. Ask for Sam he is a wonderful young man.

I got a beautiful "flip" blue/white diamond ring on St. Marteen last November. It is a great place for diamonds....

Just remember that your duty free allowance is much greater from St. Thomas--in case it matters.......
