Is Oct/Nov a good time to do Hawaiian Islands?

I hope it doesn't sound like a dumb question...I did do a search.;)

We are thinking about doing the 14-day Hawaiian Islands cruise aboard the Golden Princess.I know the weather is probably always beautiful there but is one month better then the other...?

Thank you all in advance.;)

I have been to Maui on a land based trip during October and the weather was perfect and we had calm seas. We did the circumvent Lanai (the island next to Maui) and the ocean was smooth and beautiful. It is not quite as hot as the summer months. I have been to the islands Dec, Jan, April, June, July, and Oct.

Whale season is Dec - March/April, but you get the rain and rough seas.

It really does not matter when you go because you will have a great time no matter what.

I wanted to add these links to threads discussing when is the "best" time to visit Hawaii. (For us, that would be any time except July and August, simply because we do not care for the peak of summer. OTOH, if someone said, "Would you like a free trip to Hawaii in July or August," we would say, "You betcha'!" in a big hurry.) Here are a few links to recent threads:

Drifting Away...(and anyone else)

We just booked March 18 2009 for a 14 day Hawaii out of LA .. Chose that over a better cabin on Feb. 18 bc we thought the weather would be better...

Can you elaborate on your experience during March viz rain, rough, temp, and (to my delight) whale watching?

Thanks!!!!
