Need A Few Ideas

Read as much as you can on these forums...they contain a huge wealth of information. Read the Compass (daily guide to activities on the ship and in port), and participate in the Quest and other activities. They are a lot of fun and a great way to meet other cruisers. You'll have a blast and you'll not want to get off the ship! In Nassau, if you like the beach, take a cab to Cable Beach. Not crowded and it is beautiful. Or, take an excursion to Blackbeard's Cay to swim with the stingrays.

Don't be late getting back to the ship, they won't wait for you!

It happened to our table mates, cost them 1k to catch up to the ship 26 hours later:eek:

Oh yea, Hubby's secretary took that cruise last year; she is hooked on cruising:D

Have fun.

Oh my ---- I dont remember what life was like before cruising......

Well, if you're like the rest of us, you are about to become addicted.

Its okay -- this is your program. Okay - most important tips:

Really, be on board before the ship leaves. It will ruin your vacation if you arent.

ENJOY !!!

The greatest thing about cruising is that you can do as much as you want, nothing, or something in between.

My mother, my aunt and I cruise 2x a year. We do whatever we want all day, but we meet in the room before dinner and have a cocktail while getting ready for dinner. That hour is the best time of my life and I will never ever forget them.

You'll have a great time!! Welcome !

LISA:D

14 Ladies Headed To The Bahamas-no-one Has Ever Cruised.

Anybody Got Any Suggestions?

We Are Leaving Out Of Port Canaveral Fl In June

We Are Cruising With Royal Carb

I just got back from our 7th annual cruise with the girls, so I have some suggestions:

Fly in the day before & meet at the hotel

Have some sort of plan for each day (a particular beach or excursion). Otherwise, it takes forever to make a decision with a group.

Before separating, decide on time and meeting places. Meet somewhere like a bar or coffee area so you can have a cocktail/coffee while waiting. Or maybe you could meet at the pool or dinner.

When you're with the group be sure to let someone know if you're going to the restroom or if you move ahead of the group. Leave notes or phone messages if you're on the ship. In port, decide ahead...if we lose each other, we'll meet on the ship or some other meeting place.

One of the great things traveling with a group is that you can separate and meet up again. Shoppers can shop and the others can go to the beach or excursion...then meet up later for happy hour or dinner on the ship.

Be on time...it is disrespectful to be late when you're with a group

Make sure everyone reads their cruise documents so that they all know the"rules".

Be sure to have everyone go to muster drill - make sure you take your life jackets and put them on. It can be a pain but you need to know where to go in case of an emergency. It's the last thing they do before sailing.

As soon as you have your cabin numbers make a list and give everyone a copy. It will make it easier to call each other from your cabins.

Take plenty of ones and fives with you for tipping for room service, paying for cabs and using in ports for cabs and small purchases.

If you have more than 2 to a cabin it helps to take an over the door shoe organizer - the cheap clear plastic kind. Use it to organize all your things - adding more storage space and keeping everything handy and easy to find. I put mine on the inside of the bathroom door.

Here is an idea that not everyone may agree with. One of the best parts of your cruising experience is your Dining Room. If you requested to all sit together you are going to miss out on meeting new people. and to be perfectly honest it is very hard to sit 14 people together. Try to break yourselves into smaller groups no larger than 4 and ask for tables of 8 or 10. That way you will get to meet new people and after dinner you can always get back together and talk about you Dining Room experiences. In any case you want to have fun. look for things that make you happy. Don't let one person in the group stop the whole group from enjoying themselves. Good Sailing, Murf.

Make sure to do your pre boarding registration online at home and then print out. there is also a Bahamian immigration card you have to have filled out before you board (these make boarding easier). Also have your passport and a drivers license or state id with you (needed for boarding also). Its really simple if you have the right paperwork handy. Get to the ship about noon on the day of departure (we always fly into town the night before so we can relax and enjoy a pre-cruise day there).

Enjoy your cruise - its lots of fun! In case no one mentioned there is a safe in every stateroom. I leave my good jewelry at home but its nice to have a place to put passports etc. You don't need money on board - you get a sea pass for everything you want to buy on the ship. The charges from seapass are put onto your credit card that you gave them when doing pre boarding info. Tips cost approx. $10 per day per guest plus extra for room service and or bartender. There's lots of tips on the boards that will fill you in on what's what - check it out -have a FUN time - you are likely to end up like so many of us - cruise addicted!:) :) :) :) Also thought to mention - join the cruise lines loyalty program for fun extras on your next trip. (Royal Caribbean's is Crown & Anchor)

:) Had another thought (doesn't happen toooo often) - We were in Bahamas in January and LOVED the cruise excursion that took us on a tour of Atlantis. So much to see and guides were very well trained and informed. The Atlantis is absolutely beautiful and it was well worth the money ($56) and included ferry ride back & forth and plenty of time to explore afterwards. We needed a break from the water sports and really enjoyed the Atlantis complex with aquarium/casino/shops,restaurants and tour. Its an incredible resort. Also, the "straw market" in port is right there by where you board ferry coming and going so its easy to spend a few minutes there too. (By the way, anytime you leave the ship you have to take your seapass so you can get in and out of the ship) In the Bahamas you also need a picture ID (drivers license).
