Need Help on RCCL Excursion - Reviews???

We went on a 7 day cruise last year and were "stormed" out at Grand Cayman. We are going on a 5-day in May and are going back because we really want to swim with the sting rays (and get some more rum cake).

Last year we booked the "Stingray City Barrier Reef & 7 Mile Beach Lunch through RCCL. Has anybody taken that and what do you have to say. We figured two snorkel stops and an afternoon at the Colony Beach resort with lunch sounded great.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Lunch was a grilled frozen burger patty or grilled chicken, canned pork & beans, unimaginative salad and a plastic cup of something like Hawaiian punch. I'll book through a private vendor next time I go back.

I believe we took this same tour on our honeymoon in 2004. That was our first cruise and we didn't know any better. The stingray experience is one of the best. I would do that. The beach was beautiful. We had only about 2 hours, if I can remember correctly. It was crowded in the area where we were. There was a small section reserved for our tour group and it just seemed crowded. There were rows of beach chairs and it just wasn't comfortable. The food was nothing to brag about. I think it was frozen type food. The ships food is much better.

Now being a more experience cruiser, i would book something outside of the ship. The ships excursions are really over priced. There are plenty of recommended excursions on this board. I hope I helped.

We are going back this May. We are just hoping to find a nice area on Seven Mile Beach and just relax.
