Opera Seating - Budapest

Does anyone recommend center orchestra rows 3-7 at the Budapest State Opera House? Is this too close?

What about the boxes toward the rear?

Are the boxes up one level better than on the ground floor?

It seems that tickets are not available for purchase yet for May 2008.

Thanks. :)

It's hard to imagine a bad seat in this wonderful facility. Center orchestra rows 3-7 are priced higher than seats further back and given the passion this city has for it's performing arts I believe that patrons would not pay more for seats that were not better.

We saw Madame Butterfly last October with centrally located balcony seats and had no complaints. The boxes also are very nice.

We also were unable to book tickets more than 2 month in advance - just keep checking frequently.

Thank you. I appreciate your quick response and will also read your journal.

The most expensive ticket is less than the Cheapest ticket in L.A! I look forward to attending an Opera in Budapest.........regardless of where I sit.

Boxes are several steps above the orchestra section.

Only book these boxes if you are in the first row of them as you won't be able to see a thing from the rear of the box especially if it's a side one.

Our first choice would be the box and then front orchestra in that house.:)
