Hotels in Fort Lauderdale

Hi All,

We are sailing on the NOS next month and we're looking for a close, decent hotel to stay in the night before sailing. Looking for recomendations. We'll be driving our own car, so we won't need hotel transportation.

Thanks!

Before they move your thread to the Homeports board -

You might want to check over there. Plus - look on line for the chains for ones with transfers to the port - several do. Plus ask about their "park and fly" policies. You might save on parking while on your cruise.

We just sailed the NOS last month. Stayed in a Sleep Inn in Dania beach pre cruise. Very nice. Fee shuttle service to the port, although it wouldn't apply to you. Grocery store and restaurants right across the street. Beach is 1.2 miles away. Easy walk. Sidewalks all the way. :o

In November we stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 for two nights pre-cruise. Hotel was wonderful and we had a nice view of the ships in port.

Here is a picture of the view while standing on our rooms balcony.

We stayed at the Sleep Inn in Dania for one night after our cruise and although it was no where near as nice as the Hyatt it was alright for our needs. There was a Walgreens right across the parking lot and a grocery store and a few restaurants across the street.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either place again although I would prefer the Hyatt.

I just booked the Hyatt Place that's supposed to be 2 miles from FLL and .5 miles from the port...anyone stayed their pre-cruise that could tell me whether that's a good choice or not?

The Hampton Inn in Plantation has a free shuttle, free breakfast and you can leave your car there while cruising for free!! It is a comfortable hotel and it is clean - perfect for pre cruise. Also, there is a huge shopping mall right there so if you've forgotten anything you can pick it up before you get on the ship!!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in January. Very clean and comfortable. Broward Mall is across the street. Safe neighborhood. Staff is wonderful. You won't be disappointed.

We used Hotwire to stay at the Renaissance. It is the only 4* in Las Olas area. Good restaurant across the street, 24 hr drug store across the street, decent hotel restaurant, and great location. Even with Hotwire we were given a corner room with excellent views of the harbour area.

The Marriott in nearby Hollywood Beach is right on the beach and sits beside the "Broadwalk" made of pavers and lined with palm trees. The Broadwalk is a great place to stroll or jog. The hotel is AAA Four Diamond. The price includes breakfast and free self parking. There is valet parking should you prefer that.

Here is a link for more information, prices, videos, room "tours, etc.
