Ship time

Recommended Posts

I started looking at the Eastern Caribbean itinerary on the Liberty this winter (which arrives at 5pm in San Juan).

Has anybody done this itinerary during the winter months (when San Juan is 1 hour later than the U.S. east coast)?

Will the ship be arriving at 5pm local time or 5 pm U.S. east coast time?

I have been on several cruises where sometimes they will enforce ship's time, and other times they will enfore local time. Thanks for your input!

We have sailed this route twice in February but it was in 2000 and 2001. Both times the ship, (Destiny 2000) (Victory 2001) changed time before arriving in San Juan and after leaving St. Thomas for Miami so ship time always matched local time.

If you are worried about being able to visit sights like El Morro don't worry....they were all closed when by the time we got there. We could see Puerto Rico in the late morning. We entered the harbour by El Morro between 3:00 and 4:00 but we were not dock side and off the ship before 4:30. We still had a great walking tour of old San Juan we just couldn't go into anything.:(

Thanks! We have some friends that live there who will come out and meet us at the port, so we wanted to be able to give them the correct time..!
