Marebear Posted March 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2008 I will be arriving via United Airlines in terminal 3 at 6:00 am with a connection to Dusseldorf via Lufthansa in terminal 2 approximately one and a half hours later. Is this enough time? Thank you for your reply.
coxswain Posted March 9, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2008 I think you should be allowed to check your bags straight through. I think it might be tight !! jj.....

Elaine0138 Posted March 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2008 This doesn't allow much time for any hold ups at immigration and security, it will be very tight even with a clear run
Globaliser Posted March 10, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I will be arriving via United Airlines in terminal 3 at 6:00 am with a connection to Dusseldorf via Lufthansa in terminal 2 approximately one and a half hours later. Is this enough time? This should be no problem, and you don't need to worry about it if there are no delays to your inbound flight - but there isn't any margin to allow you to dawdle, at least until after you are safely into the airside departures area at Terminal 2. When you disembark at Terminal 3, follow the signs for Flight Connections Terminal 2. (I think that connections routes are now signed in purple rather than yellow, which makes them easier to identify.) Initially, this will be routed along with other terminals, but make sure you keep watching for the number 2. You will be taken to a bus stop, and the bus will take you to the Flight Connections Centre which is located between Terminals 1 and 2 (and physically connected to both). You will go up the escalators to the top floor, where you clear security. Immediately after that, you can collect a boarding pass for your onward flight in the unlikely event that you don't already have one. Then follow the signs for Terminal 2 down the escalator (one floor), from where it's a short walk through a corridor to the main airside departures area of that terminal. Marebear Posted March 10, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Thank you, Globalizer, that's what I needed to hear! I've printed your reply and will take it with me.
Hambagahle Posted March 12, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2008 If your bags are checked through, all you need to do is to head for the "Flight Connections Centre" which is very clearly marked. Once there, you will show your onward boarding pass and go through security, then take a bus (5-10mins) to Terminal 1 (or 2). An hour and a half will be plenty for you - IF your inbound flight is on time. Your bags? Maybe - let's hope! theoretically they should be OK too...if not, then they should follow on the next flight. Globaliser Posted March 12, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2008 Sorry, that is actually the wrong way round. From Terminal 3, it's bus to FCC, then security and then walk to Terminal 2 - as I posted above.
