South Palm Cruiser Posted March 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Our next X cruise will be our first as Captain's Club Elite members. What's in the coupon booklet these days? Thanks in advance for your replies !!!
tbelian Posted March 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Match play coupons for the casino ($5.00 match). Laundry discount, internet 10% additional minutes... and some others... that I dont recall, sorry.
bububr Posted March 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Basically the same as the Select booklet. Just one more match play. I wouldn't get TOO excited about it. We didn't ( couldn't ) use ours at all from the last cruise and tossed them. OOPS...we did use the free bingo card. Dave:eek:
jt1120 Posted March 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2008 All in all, and I know it's just a gesture, I wish they would just keep the booklets. I don't want to play in the casino, I don't want to go on the internet, I don't have any laundry on a four-day cruise, I don't want them to print my digital pictures that I can get cheaper on shore, etc etc etc. If anything, I wonder if they actually do research to see which coupons get used the most, and which ones go unused, and then perhaps modify the booklet that way. Actually, the RC books have been better, if I recall correctly. How about BOGO free in Murano's? Now THAT I will gladly use. Anybody else have some coupon suggestions. We can make a list of them and send them to old Dan the man Hanrahan.
hajekfam Posted March 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2008 The elite book included coupons for a free specialty coffee after dinner in the specialty restaurant, a 20% bonus minutes on an internet package, the laundry coupon was stuff a bag for $15, free wine flight with purchase of wine flight, $10 off second bottle of wine purchase in dining room. It is probably similar to the select booklet, but I believe that the coupons are worth a little more than the select book's.
raudacruise Posted March 11, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Karen, we were select members on the December TA on Mille. What you described is pretty much the same as our booklets. And after the "wine tasting party" we had really didn't have much need for the free wine flight ;).
hajekfam Posted March 12, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2008 George & Marybeth - We are so sorry that we missed the "wine tasting party" - but we were still recouperating from the Med cruise and all the ports we did. It sounded like you guys had a ball. Karen
Kathie44 Posted March 12, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2008 The X coupon books are pretty cheesy compared to the RC ones. We have always used several of those. In Jan. on Mercury, we did use the discount on a second bottle of wine in the dining room--both coupons. First time in four X cruises we ever used any of the coupons. DH drank the wine. One bottle we shared with our tablemates to celebrate my winning $500 on a nickle machine in the casino. :D Still can't believe I won that much $$$. I was almost hyperventilating. The thing that amazed everybody was that it was on only one line. I didn't even understand about multiple lines, I just was trying to save nickles and playing just 2 nickles on one line. Just dumb luck, I guess.
Richard Stein Posted March 12, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 12, 2008 The only one I used for the on my recent Australia-NZ cruise was $15 for as much laundry as you could get in the bag. I have elite status with Princess and get my laundry free from them, but it was back the next night.
Rare hcat Posted March 12, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 12, 2008 The Celeb coups require a purchase to get anything free or at a discount.. How abt a free cocktail or specialty coffee anywhere on the ship free internet minutes wihout buying a package free golf simulator session free visit to the Persian gardens free bottle of water things people actually would appreciate as recognition for brand loyalty.... raudacruise Posted March 13, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 13, 2008 How do you get a Celebrity coupon book? It (actually they) will be in your cabin, probably on your bed the first or second night.
Jimsgirl Posted March 13, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 13, 2008 Not worth the paper they are printed from, in each case you have to buy somthing in order to get a $1-$2 off something costing like $20 or even $100 Often also the so called offers involve "couples", like "massage for two " so once again those of us travelling solo, are descriminated against
usha Posted March 13, 2008 #14 Share Posted March 13, 2008 We used a couple of them on our last cruise, but they're really nothing to get too excited about.:o
bubbie617 Posted March 13, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 13, 2008 What is a "wine flight"? It's a term I've never heard.
raudacruise Posted March 13, 2008 #16 Share Posted March 13, 2008 What is a "wine flight"? It's a term I've never heard. Instead of one glass its 3 or 4 much smaller glasses. Flight is being used for all sorts of stuff meaning similiar things with different tastes. I've seen Martini, Scotch, Cheese, Olive ...whatever flights. Again, small portions of different kinds for the most part.
