Smoking Policy on Carnival

Well let's see...Their children have higher grade point averages in school than 75% of US states. All Cubans have health, dental and visual insurance. And...if you want to spank the little darlings because they act up...guess they deserved it.. And when the hard day at work is over and done....you can have a cigar without some whiner having a hissy fit about it who lives three houses away from you.........:p Oh yes....and if yoou live in an apartment and want to have a cigar in the open air on you balcony...the neighbor doesn't run to the landlord to b!tc#......:eek:

Oh yes they do. Go google perfume and carcinogens and you will find that perfume has really high amounts of carcinogens. So lets start banning them.

 

I would love that too. I think life would be so much better if nobody had to worry about what stinks, or makes them ill. I think those things should be done in your own bathroom ;) Then a quick shower or bath and clean clothes would make everyone ready have a great time.

Go ahead. I still think that the wind will just carry it off. Just like it does the cig smoke. The way that wind blows on the balconies I'd be surprised if I even caught a whiff of your "farts". :rolleyes:

 

I can personally refute that when the balcony farther forward on the ship has a smoker on it, the smell lingers very well onto the balcony directly behind it. We had that problem on our last cruise. We are normally not complainers, and we hoped that we'd be able to figure out a pattern of when they would be there, so we'd stay away, and when they'd not be smoking so we could enjoy our balcony. Well, they were always there, save for dinner hour. And, they were non-stop chainsmokers. Between the constant smoke and the awful non-stop jagged smokers cough, we were fed up by the third day and complained at the desk that we had paid money for the balcony and weren't able to use it at all!

I find it hard to beleive that someone would pay good money for a cruise...and even more for a balcony...and then spend all but about 2 hours a day on their balcony, chain smoking no less?? C'mon! :rolleyes:

 

As for the smoke "lingering" on another balcony, please. Next time you are on your balcony, try flicking a lighter or a match and see how long you can keep the flame going without sheilding it from the wind. I guarantee you won't be able to keep it going for more than a second. Why? Cuz the breeze is VERY strong! Heck, I have to hold onto anything I take out there or it will be airborne.

 

You say you went to the pursers desk to complain. What exactly did you expect them to do?

I find it is hard to lite the ship makeing it very hard to smoke.

 

I do enjoy a fine cigar and a fu fu drink on the back of lido deck on sail-a-way. great way to start a vacation.

 

The one thing I hate is all the diffrent sunblock smells. there should be a thread started on rude people and their stinky greassy sunblock

Gee - did you find anything else bad about you trip? Because someone's "smoke" wafted by your balcony on it's way back you "ruined" your entire cruise? I wonder what the people behind you had to say about your constant bickering...

Don't be so skeptical. I can see why they would be frustrated if everytime they went out on their balcony they smelled smoke. If you are a non smoker the smell is horrendous. If you smoke you can't imagine why it would bother anyone. Why is that concept so hard to understand. And if you pay a premium price for a balcony room and then can't use the balcony that would be a bust.

I guess the trick for non-smokers is to get the balcony room at the very front of the ship. That way, the smoke in the room next to them will "waft" to the rear of the ship. :D

Comes back to Carnival needing to fill all of their cabins as much as possible. If they segregate them, harder to fill them.

I am more worried about my 2 yr old son smelling the smoke then myself. And I am so mad that they allow smoking on the ship. Being from NY, the thought never even crossed my mind that they allow this on the ship. I am so upset. We shall see what happens. I hope no one around us smokes. I can't believe that many people still smoke.

On average its about 20% of the population. The new AARP magazine has an article listing the averages in each state. Kentucky was the highest with I think 26%.

If you go by the casino, you will REALLY smell smoke. It may be the time of year we went (February), but there are a lot of senior citizens that smoke a lot. Lot of younger ones too. If you are expecting a smoke free environment, you have picked the wrong vacation. :(
