YUP!

Many times.

Met a couple on our first cruise 16 years ago, booked again with them on 7 subsequent cruises, had them out to our house 14 years ago, are meeting up with them in November in Las Vegas.

They are west coast, and we are east.

There are always a lot for friendly people on cruises. Just standing in line or during the muster drill. Any number of places. How about you dining tablemates. I think if you look for friends, they will also be looking for you. Have a successful cruise and many friendships to come.

No, but I have met a lot of people on CC, then cruised with them and are still in touch. And also have alot of friends here that I haven't yet met face to face but hope to someday. A family we met via this board last year that cruised with us has turned out to be very dear friends. The wife from that family and myself are going to Portland for a girls weekend in a few weeks as a matter of fact. :)

We met some great friends on our cruise last January. We booked a table for 4 for dinner and they happened to be our table mates. We hit it off so well the first night, they had to throw us out of the dining room at 11:00. We hung out together the whole cruise and had a great time. We have visited their home and they have come to ours. We're sailing together again in a few weeks. I can't wait. The Glory may never be the same again.

We have spoken via messenger twice and both of them are a blast!!! For us it has been great as we are not Americans and had a bit of trouble with a part of our trip. Masq very kindly got me all the info, made a couple of calls and even found out details for an ice hockey game we wanted to go to all with out us asking!! So even if we dont meet anyone else which I am sure we will we have meet a couple of new friends who are gorgeous that we cant wait to meet in person!! Oh and even got pickies sent of their child smokey (the cat)

As mouthy as I am on this board I get shy on the actual cruises. I talk to people but I have never invited anyone to go do anything after dinner etc.. I have gotten a few invites but I.. I don't know.. get shy?? Yea that's a good description.. I have thought about a group cruise so I can talk to people I have at least met online before.

I did meet someone here on CC for our Conquest cruise back a couple of years ago. Turned out we lived close (30 miles) from each other. She & I and our DH met for dinner a week or so before the cruise.

We went on the cruise, had a great time and now almost 2 years later she is one of my best friends and we get together for dinner or a night at the casino in Tunica at least once a month. Although they did have a good time on the cruise, cruising just wasn't for them so we have taken a couple of land vacations with them.

Met our friends Barb and Steve on the boards before our Hawaii cruise in 2000. We decided to meet prior to the cruise in Honolulu as we were both staying there 3 nights prior. They actually live about an hour's drive away from us. We have been friends and sailing together ever since.

We do weekend getaways together and have each other over for dinner all the time. I now can't imagine our lives without them!

It's truly wonderful to have friends to cruise with!

cruising "solo" is the BEST way to meet new people & make new friends. I met a guy from Long island, NY on my very first cruise in 1985 at a PAJAMA PARTY IN ARUBA!! wE HAD A GREAT TIME TOGETHER, and have kept in touch over the years & now still email each other. In fact, I just received an email from him yesterday, suggesting that we should to get together again on another cruise!! After all these years we both still find ourselves single, but still LOVE to cruise:-)

We met a couple on our first cruise on one of the shore excursions that we really clicked with immediately. Although we have now lost touch, we were delighted at how easy it is to meet people. On our cruises since, all but one were cruises where we knew people from internet boards such as Cruise Critic. A group of us from the CC Fashion Board met online two years ago, sailed on the Enchantment, and have kept in touch pretty regularly ever since. I have also made several close friends from cruise boards and not only sailed with them, but have traveled to their homes.

If you're friendly, smile and can talk easily to others, you should have no problem meeting others.

We met a couple from Canada on our 2003 Pride cruise. We were seated together at a table for four and just hit it off immediately. We hung around the entire cruise and have kept in touch by email. We visited their home in Canada the following summer and they paid us a visit this summer. We live an easy 4 hour drive apart. We plan to go to Toronto for a theater weekend this fall to see our friends yet again.

My sister met a friend this past year on our Mariner cruise. Both my sister and her new friend from Scotland were sailing solo and met (once again) at the dinner table. They hung around all cruise long and my sister went to visit her new pal in Scotland this summer. They had a great time together and it was the opportunity of a lifetime for my sister to travel abroad.

The first couple we met on our last cruise was out watching the ship leave port. We asked them to take our pictures. We got to talking and spent at least 30 minutes getting to know each other. After saying goodbye and hoping to see them around during the week, we parted. Guess who was our tablemates for this cruise? Crazy huh? So, we got to know them pretty well and we still email. We also met a couple that is about the ages of my parents that just seemed to be everywhere we were. We spent a lot of time with them on the cruise and we consider them dear friends. We email at least a couple of times a week and hope to visit them soon. If you are there to have FUN, people will be drawn to that and you will meet people everywhere you go!!!

DW and I have been on 2 cruises and connected each time with another couple. Still keeping in contact 17 years later with the 1st couple, even came to visit before kids, and keeping in contact with a couple we just met on the pride this month. Expect to have them over before the year is out.

Just have to say hello. Never know who you are going to hit it off with.
