Antarctica Narrative and Pictures

First, if you are ever going to Alaska, go BEFORE you go to Antarctica. Alaska is a huge letdown after Antarctica. But am sure it would be a wonderful trip if seen first.

 

I did it backwards, and although I truly enjoyed the cruise to Alaska, it did not begin to compare. I was told on my Antarctic trip to wait many years before going to Alaska or I would certainly be disappointed. And I was!!

I would also recommend that you go on the smallest ship possible to truly enjoy all the wonders of Antarctica.

Thanks Tippy! I enjoyed your post very much! DH and I leave on Quark Orlova in a little over a month. It still doesn't seem quite real that we're going and as it gets closer I may have some questions that I finally have someone to answer! Great narrative and great photos too!
