tracyvansmith Posted March 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2008 Just wondering if any has cruised Carnivals Alaska cruises with out a passport. I would like to take my sister on carnivals Alaska round trip cruise out of Vancouver but she does not have a passport. I was wondering if her birth certificate and drivers was enough for the cruise. I am not worried about flights just the cruise.
yst347 Posted March 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2008 As of January 23, 2008 you must have a passport to sail Carnival in Alaska. You need a passport to enter Canada by air or land. If anyone in you party tries to board a flight to Vancouver from the USA or cross the border by car without a valid passport, they should expect to be turned away.....sorry :( I see you are Canadian...that puts a different spin on things. I don't know what rules will govern a round-trip from a Canadian port for a Canadian citizen. Is this a back to back?
tracyvansmith Posted March 14, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted March 14, 2008 I know you need one to fly into the US but you do not need one yet to drive across the boarder. My sister lives in Van. and I was looking at doing the round trip this year. I was just wondering if anyone has sailed lately with out a passport on the Alaskan cruises. No it is not a back to back. kdr69 Posted March 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2008 We did Alaska two years ago on Royal Carribean but we had passports so cant help you there. I never have to worry about whether my docs are sufficient with a passport.
