dclark Posted March 17, 2008 #26 Share Posted March 17, 2008 On the Dawn last NYE, "lobster" was offerred as an "extra" with an entree. The lobster tail was about the size of my thumb. The waiter said that we could get any more until everyone else was served to make sure they had enough. He came back later and we got one more each. They were smaller than the shrimp. The only reason why they had even had these was that they could say that "Yes, we served 'lobster'!"
Go-Bucks! Posted March 17, 2008 #27 Share Posted March 17, 2008 I've only dressed formally on one of my past 4 cruises on "formal" night and no one ever said a thing. Of course, I wore a nice outfit that you would wear out to dinner, but it wasn't a gown or something sparkly. I was never denied the lobster because of my lack of formal wear, but I do agree with others that it was fairly rubbery (seemed overcooked). But I love seafood no matter what, so I enjoyed it anyway. Some people have mentioned lobster claws - they're the BEST part of the lobster! Far more tender and flavorful than the tail. I'd take those over a tail anyday, but I haven't seen any on the cruises I was on. I'll ask next time.
