snorklehound Posted October 3, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2004 Pack a multi-outlet power strip and you won't have to constantly unplug stuff (just don't run the blender and a hair dryer at the same time)
jerrymac Posted October 4, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2004 You can make a White Russian Shake if you bring Kalua and Vodka! Just add the free 24 hour soft serve ice cream!
NURSE24001 Posted October 7, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 7, 2004 I've cruised five times and have always taken our blender from home. It saves us tons of $ every cruise. Take your rum, drink mixes, etc..in plastic containers in your luggage. I usually get fresh fruit from the breakfast buffet in the AM. On the first day of the cruise I buy one of their over-priced watered down drinks in that foo-foo cup to use the entire week. I make all kinds of frozen drinks ranging from smoothies for the kids and margaritas for mom lol. The cabin is never that far away from the pool so it always works out great. Everyone around you will be jealous by the pool because you came up with such an awesome idea. Our cabin steward always leaves us extra ice every day and of course I reward him with an extra tip. I bet my sail and sign card went down hundreds after our first cruise thanks to our blender. Oh yeah.. don't forget an extension cord since you are limited to only one outlet in a cabin. montycjv Posted October 7, 2004 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2004 How do you "sneak" the booze on the ship? I heard they really check your luggage when you get on the ship. Any suggestions?
susi_q Posted October 8, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted October 8, 2004 Thanks nurse, Jerry & snorkel - appreciate the ideas. Like being the cause of jealousy  sue
marie&rick Posted October 9, 2004 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2004 montycjv We have "smuggled" booze on the ship by carrying our rum in a large bottle of water. We just dump the water out, pour in the rum (or any other clear liquid) and carry it onto the ship in our hand or in a carry on bag. We've never had any problems:)

NURSE24001 Posted October 21, 2004 #14 Share Posted October 21, 2004 Any cheap blender from Wal-Mart works. lol :) I bought one a few years ago and it has made hundreds of foo-foo drinks. As far as taking liquor on board,, simple..... they don't open any bottles. I usually do what the others have done and fill quart plastic water bottles,etc... Believe me, it will save you a ton of money in the long run. You can also refill them in the ports if you run out. I usually just buy drinks at night at the clubs or shows. The blender drinks are for during the day at poolside. Anyone out there have some good blender drink ideas?
Earthworm Jim Posted October 27, 2004 #15 Share Posted October 27, 2004 You can make a White Russian Shake if you bring Kalua and Vodka! Just add the free 24 hour soft serve ice cream! Now that is a great idea jerrymac. You could probably even make a passable version without a blender by stirring for a while.
RaffinOrganGrinders Posted October 31, 2004 #16 Share Posted October 31, 2004 If you get caught without a power outlet on your cruise, here is the solution. (LOL) Totally Portable TailGator® sports a 24cc 2-stroke engine which generates enough torque to whip up a pitcher of your favorite frozen beverage in just about 15 seconds. pantherkat Posted November 1, 2004 #17 Share Posted November 1, 2004 check the bottles in your suitcase ( not your carry on ) - as long as it is locked you'll have no problem!

Melissa at Mohair Meadows Posted January 7, 2005 #21 Share Posted January 7, 2005 What a great idea. I'm going to bring my Braun Stick blender. It chops, mixes and does everything a regular blender does, but you mix it in the glass you are going to use. Less storage space. :D Melissa
