Duffyy Posted March 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2008 We are just off the Pride of Aloha. I noticed lots of different coloured ship cards, red, blue, yellow, etc. What do the different colours mean?
Cosmopolitan Posted March 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2008 We are just off the Pride of Aloha. I noticed lots of different coloured ship cards, red, blue, yellow, etc. What do the different colours mean? Good question...thought I figured it out on my last cruise with my sister. We were in a suite with different color cards. I've cruised more on NCL than she did. Then I cruised with DH and we had the same color card...in the same suite. I've cruised NCL more than he did:confused: No rhyme or reason!
NCL_Cruiser Posted March 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2008 We are just off the Pride of Aloha. I noticed lots of different coloured ship cards, red, blue, yellow, etc. What do the different colours mean? It means that color was on the top of the stack when your keycard was printed....it's all random (unless you're in a Villa or Owner's Suite....they MAY get an exclusive colored card.) silkhair1 Posted March 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2008 yep, I do not think they have a meaning. When I had to get mine replaced, I got a different color! Who knows!

Duffyy Posted March 23, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted March 23, 2008 Might be true, I was wearing a red Aloha shirt and my card was, you guessed it, Red.
DizzyDallasDi Posted March 23, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2008 They are made to match your outfit the day you get on the ship. Good answer and you made me giggle!:D If my card is nude-colored, it's going to be a riot when I embark!
WinterSky Posted March 23, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 23, 2008 On our March 8 cruise in a balcony the color appeared to be random as my husband and I had different color key cards (his green, mine aqua). However, information on the NCL website about Freestyle 2.0 says that with Freestyle 2.0 all balcony and higher passengers will be easily identified by their key card color, so at least by June, key card color will have an identification purpose. steveo2916 Posted March 24, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 24, 2008 Was told last week on the Jewel that certain card color(s) identify one as a "VIP". Can't confirm nor deny. SteveO.
coblerus Posted March 24, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 24, 2008 My wife and I got different colored cards when we checked in for the Pride of Aloha in Feb. I asked why, and was told "It's Freestyle!" The colors mean nothing, but I did like Jame's answer about matching your outfit. As a matter of fact, after thinking back on what we were wearing that may be true! Bobbye Posted March 25, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 25, 2008 On the Star last week the VIP's had gold cards. The others appeared to be random but I can't totally confirm that. Bobbye
