stingraynz Posted April 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2004 I didn't go to a tango show when we went on the SA cruise. But I think I remembered reading in a review from another cruiser that they liked the show they went to. They booked it through PortCompass.com. They might want to check out what they offer. 2dogcarol Posted April 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2004 I didn't go to a tango show, either, but if you really want to see one be sure you book one. The Infinity had 4 professional tango dancers on board for the whole two weeks but the only time they danced on board was the sail away night and most people missed them because the Super Bowl was on at the same time. They did have afternoon tango dance lessons 2 or 3 times during the cruise. I, and many others, thought they should have performed several times during the cruise. Those who did go to a tango show did enjoy it and booked it through Celebrity or on their own. Port Compass didn't have any available for our sailing date. tiegs Posted April 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2004 We booked the Carlos Gardel Tango show in B.A. with Defran Tours. It cost about $40 US pp and included dinner and wine & Beer. The food was good with about 4 or 5 choices and included transportation from our hotel. Check my review of the Royal Princess in member reviews. There are several Tango shows some are Las Vegas type, the Carlos Gardel show is more Argentine.

palermo22 Posted April 5, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2004 If you a little adventurous - go to Boca (an old town section of BA) and stop in any restuarant/Bar offering a floor show and you will see Argentina without the commercialism. Jane110 Posted May 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2004 LA Casa Blanca has a very good tango show. You get a drink with the price of the ticket. There were locals as well as foreigners there. Excellent show. Any hotel concierge can tell you where to go. I'd like to go to the ones in the bars, that aren't shows, but just the locals dancing.
