I'm the leader of a group of (right now) about 40 people (not sure how many will be coming along, though), ranging in ages from 3 to 85. We're looking to get day passes at a resort in Nassau, and I need to know what the differences are (beach quality, food costs/quality at restaurant/bar, pool area, cleanliness, conveinence in transportation to/from pier area, location in relation to shopping areas/Straw Market) and what would be best for our group. The main three that I've seen info/reviews on are BCH, Wyndham and Sheraton.

Thanks!

With a group that big I'd head to the Wyndham .. (you have access to the Sheraton as it's just steps away. )

You'll find a nice calm beach, crystal clear water, several pools, one with a slide, some shade trees, bar and grill, restrooms and shopping. Even a casino. You can even use the Nassau Beach Hotel next door (it's closed now.. but the beach is still accessible.

You can get to Cable beach via taxi.. or just take the #10 jitney from downtown on George street. They come every 2-3 minutes during the daytime (stop around 6:30pm). Just tell the driver that you want to go to the wyndham and he'll stop. Pay $1 pp as you leave the bus. Exact change. Drivers won't give change.

On the way back.. just reverse.

Jitneys are small 30 passenger buses that travel back and forth all day long.

As much as I love the BCH.. I think 40 people would overwhelm the tiny beach.

What time can we stay until at the Wyndham?

Our ship will be in Nassau from 1:30 to 11:00 p.m. Assume we couldn't get there until 2:30 or so.

The beaches and pools will close around 5:30 - 6pm .. they'll start stacking the chaises and rounding things up a little before. This is the same at ALL the resorts.
