Celebrity Millennium, Anyone?

It's a beautiful ship and was in great shape. Enjoy the thalassotherapy pool. Crew in all areas were wonderful and friendly. The shows were great except for one magician who probably will not be around when you get there based on all the people who walked out during his shows.

We loved it wish we were back onboard.

We were in a SS on the penthouse deck on Millie in Jan. We had a great cruise, great service, etc.

Ask anything you want want to know. You will definitely enjoy your cruise. If you want to see pictures of the Millie, check the link under my signature. There are many pictures there. Joe

Thanks for the input. It's good to have the perspective of recent travelers. We'll definitely skip the magician if he's still around.

Joe - thanks for sharing your pictures. It looks like you guys had a great time. Was that a zipline over the water? How was the food in the Olympic?

  • There is alfresco dining and bar at the back of the ocean grille that's a wonderful place to be for breakfast or sail away.
  • The first show in the theater was always busier than the second. At least on our Caribbean cruise the second show wasn't until 10:50 pm, so the audience wasn't nearly as lively with the comedian.
  • The famous Celebrity waffles are at the very end of the buffet line at the back of the ship.
  • The wireless internet works with Macs as well as PCs.
  • The food and wine pairing class is great!
  • The pastries are fabulous and the chocolate croissants are to die for.
  • If you are a foodie, order the tasting menu with wine pairing in the Olympic dining room. Make your reservation soon after boarding.
  • The Aquaspa cafe is so good that we ate lunch there almost every day.
  • The women in our group preferred showering at the Aquaspa as opposed to the cabin.
  • If you do the formal portrait with the all-white background make sure your foreheads are not oily or you will shine like porcelain.
  • They sometimes raffle off stuff in the casino at night. The best chance to win is if you are seated at a gaming table.
  • Do enjoy the thalassotherapy pool.
  • If you use two way radios on board the crew will chime in with your conversation and tell you they are not allowed. Kids use the all over the place on RCI!
  • If you enjoy specialty coffee drinks (with alcohol) then keep an eye out for the tasting in the Cova Cafe. It's just the right amount to share.
  • The smaller tables in the main dining room have the best view of the two-level center area. The large tables line the outer walls and cannot see the staircase or illuminated ceiling.

We were on the 3/9 Eastern Carib sailing -

Totally agree on making sure you hit the T-pool, we LOOOVED it!

There is some wear & tear, but not enough to really take away from the wonderful time we had.

Make sure you ask about the towel service (to take on shorex) we never got any info on it till after we got back from the Labadee day.

Very easy to get alcohol on board, both at initial embarkation and coming back from ports (Celeb rules say you cant, but almost everyone does)

Port debarkation lines moved very quickly except for our 1st stop in Puerto Rico.

Definitely book a reservation at the Olympic, and save lots of room for a ton of phenomenal food!

Ditto on the yummy waffles at the back of the buffet- theyre right by the entrance to the outside dining at the far back of the ship.

Don't mind the sound of elephants if you have breakfast on Deck 10 - that's just the runners upstairs on Deck 11 jogging track

Karioke in the nightclub was a whole lot of fun, even if you're not really a karioke person.

If you get room service, be VERY specific. They left out some condiments and minor parts of our breakfast.

Thanks for the helpful tips. So, it sounds like we're going to be stimulated by good food and wine, interesting glassworks, spa activities, and who knows maybe even a little karaoke.

How are the work out facilities? Also, we're trying to persuade my folks to join us and my dad loves a little casino action - does anyone have any feedback on the casino?

To those of you who commented about "wear and tear" - would that be enough to make you look at another cruise line if you were planning a 2009 trip?

I fully intended to work out at least three times. I guess once isn't all that bad. The workout facilities were very nice for a cruise ship. Treadmills with video screens are lined up along the windows, although the view is partially blocked because your head is even with the window frame. The equipment is in good shape and there is an aerobics floor for stretching when there isn't a class.

One person in our group was in the casino every night playing Texas Holdem. He certainly enjoyed himself, especially since he came out ahead. It was a lively place in the evenings.

I hear that Millennium is going into drydock soon so the wear and tear should be less of an issue.

We took 2 cruises in 2007 on Millie and liked it enough that we are booked o b2b2b in Spring 2009 (Sydney, Auckland, Hilo and Vancouver). We loved this ship and look forward to her in 2009. Maybe we're on the same Hawaii cruise?

Thanks! It sounds like we're probably on the same Hawaii cruise. It should be fun.
