How to pronounce Caribe?

I think toto2kansas is right

Agreed, although we spelled it different toto and I pronounce it the same Ka-reeb and cuh-reeb. Same exact sound.

 

That being said, sometimes I say it Cuh-ree-bay which is likely wrong but it seems to come out once in a while after a few beers. LOL

I once worked in a movie theater named Caribe.

 

We never did figure out what was the proper way to say it. We heard many who said 'Ka-Reeb -Short A with long E' and many who said "car-ib (rhyme with bib)"

 

I personally use "car-ib".

According to one source Caribe is pronounced "KA-REE-BEE. Coming from the Spanish/Caribbean word for cannibal. A Caribe is a Piranha ... but I guess Princess thought it unwise to offer staterooms on "Piranha Deck":eek:
