Luggage and San Juan Port

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone -

We are flying into San Juan in the late morning for our departure on the AOS on 4/12. I heard about all these fabulous shops we want to try to hit. I am curious as to if we are able to check in our luggage at the boat and then head to do some shopping before we embark.

Has anyone ever done this before? If we can't do that, are there any options to store our luggage?

Thanks so much!

Colleen

If you want to save some time and hit the shops immediately, instead of heading to the ship from the airport, head to OSJ. There is a restaurant in OSJ, Barrachina's, where you can store your luggage for free. Take a taxi from the airport, drop off your bags there, do your shopping, head back and pick up your bags, grab a taxi to the ship and then you don't have to worry about leaving the ship again (also saves one taxi fare).

Barrachino's is an option, and is a nice little restaurant, but honestly, I would go drop it off at the ship and then go into town. then you don't have to remember where the restaurant is, drag your luggage in there and out and you won't have to deal with it. We have dropped our luggage at the pier very early with no issues. If you want to go into town right away, your cab will probably wait for you while you drop the luggage at the pier and then continue on to take you into town. Then you can enjoy at your leisure before heading back to the ship.

Enjoy, we love OSJ!!
