Kids on MSC

Hello! Looking to book MSC Orchestra in March of 09 with kids ranging in ages from 5-12. Any experiences? Any suggestions? Ports or the ship...

To give a summery of the reviews....

 

MSC is not the cruise for kids.... Once they get a foothold in the Caribbean, things may change, but for now, its looking bleak

 

Kids activities stop too young (stops @ 10yr old)

Food stops @ 8:30 pm

Extra $$ for lotsa things we take for granted.

Announcements are long, and givin in 5 languages.

English is not the first language on the ship.

 

Meat dishes are poor. (Not a kid issue, but it helped change my mind cause I'm a "Meat Eatin'" kinda man)

 

Kinda bummed us out cause the price was right, but I want the kids first cruise to be grand, and I don't have the $$ to gamble.

We may give the Inspiration (with there new Kid zone "Evolutions of fun") another shot.

There have been a few recent reviews that are very good. I do think that there could be room for improvement, but I think that is the case for some of the more popular cruise lines. We are going to give this line a try for a Christmas cruise. I am taking my three girls. The price is right and I know we will always find something to do. My kids are just fine being in the pool on sea days and I can't wait to see the ports. We will just have to adjust to fit the situation. However, anytime we can cruise is wonderful!!
