taxi tipping/carrying wine on the plane

any suggestions on how much to tip the cabbie from the airport to downtown ft. lauderdale and then back from ft. lauderdale to cruise port

 

also, is it safe to carry wine on board the plane and how to do it- will princess let you do this?

I think the rule of thumb for tipping a cabbie in the US generally is 10-15% of the meter. If you have a lot of bags and he/she helps you with them, tip more.

 

Wine on the plane or on the ship? I wouldn't bother lugging wine on a plane with me. You'd have to carry it on, and still have to worry about breakage, plus it's heavy. And I'm sure somebody here knows of a liquor store between the FLL airport and the cruise ship terminal.:D

 

Princess allows you to bring wine & champagne on board (it's posted on their website). They may charge a corkage fee if you bring it to a dining room.
