Some April Fool's Day stuff is funny and worthwhile.

 

Take, for example, the trouble that a TV station went to in order to make an entire programme about the Sicilian spaghetti harvest, complete with footage of peasant farmers gathering the raw spaghetti from the trees on which it was growing and lovingly cutting and packaging it. This was an absolute classic.

 

Or the full page newspaper ads that BMW once took out advertising a new feature on their cars - the automatic monitoring and display of tyre pressures. And they had prepared for people who really did cut out the coupon requesting more information - they sent you a real tin can full of real air for your tyres.

 

But posts saying "X has gone bankrupt" are just thoughtless, mindless and a stupid waste of space, IMHO. It's certainly not in the least bit funny.

Man what a bunck of sticks in the muds. The mods even replied to that thread commenting on it. Obviously they think its worth the space.

 

Over 1000 people read that thread and over 35 responded that wasn't offended.

 

I think we need to desensitize.

Vany must be suffering from what we have termed PCD, or post cruise depression. Makes one cry easily. Do you think we need to put a medical disclaimer in the post? Will vacation insurance cover the resulting heart attack or side splitting repair? I thought it was funny after my head stopped spinning. JMO Karen

What's the April Fool's joke here? The coupon? BMWs really do have a feature that monitors your tire's air pressure and can display it on the info screen.

Well,I don't mind the jokes but I wasn't fooled.First of all because one was on Carnival board last night,but it was too early for everyone except the east coast.I did wonder why RCI going bankrupt was posted on this board,and the Carnival board...I mean...why not Carnival on the Carnival board.....??????

My daughter was born on April 1 12 years ago at 4:30 in the morning--kind of a surprise to us since she was 2 1/2 weeks early. My DH and I had so much fun calling all of our relatives about 6 a.m. on the 1st and telling them we had a beautiful little girl. To a person, they all laughed and said, "Yeah, right--we know it's April Fool's Day." The joke was on them--now our daughter loves having her birthday on April 1--no one ever forgets it, that's for sure.

Disappointing day. I really thought Johnny Rocket's had pulled a good one over on us by charging us a fee for the food. We laughed and laughed ....turns out it wasn't an April Fool's joke..it was for real.
