What do you think about this location on the Spirit?

My TA just sent me this information. He has a tentative hold on room 10630

on the Spirit. I can't find a decent picture of where it is on the ship? Too far back to feel vibrations and such? Too high in the ship? Any experience?

i still don't know what your worry is for being too high?

if you are worried about being sea sick...low and mid-ship is best, but then you would be in an inside cabin?

the cabin you are asking about has cabins below and above, that is good.

you have asked about vibrations...that comes from the engine..it's more of a rumbling, it's a normal thing even before the engine problems in december. when in the rear of the ship, you can feel the little rumbling along the floor and when leaning on the railings. the only time i noticed it was leaning on the railings, sitting in the buffet or in the casino (lower deck and all the way foreward).

cabin 10630 is just one deck up and a couple of cabins aft of where my cabin was...and i loved that location. you are near the aft elevators, easy to get up/down to the other decks. you won't have to do the long walk down the hallways. straight up those elevators/stairs to the buffet or la trattoria...straight down to windows. looks like a good location to me.

As you can see, I have been on other cruises before so I am not new to cruising. Sometimes when the ship is kind of "wavy", it kind of scares me like we are going to fly over or something. So that is why I don't like to go any higher up than I can but I do want a balcony. Only had a window once. Tried balcony next and next went back. LOL

I see no real problem with either location: 9086 is just above the life boats but you will not be looking straight down, rather you will be looking out toward the sea and the ports. As for 10630, yes, mid ship, on a lower deck is less likely to be rough, but I love aft cabins. Your location should be fine. Ir has to be pretty rough for you to feel a lot of motion inside the ship.

I love that room location!!

I find the Aft of the ship is where you don't feel that "Sea sick motion" like in the foward part of the ship. You have the best side of the ship also.

You will love it. You have the option of two different elevators to choose from, that is also a plus.

You chose prime location as far as I am concerned.

We will be on the Spirit tomorrow for the week. We will be in Cabin 10636 and my Mom will be in 10632, (right beside the cabin you have questions about.) I will post exactly how it was next week when we get back. Hopefully we have nothing but wonderful things to tell.

Happy Cruising.

Pixie,

We will be in 10636 sailing tomorrow. (am going nuts waiting!!) It was great to hear that we will be in a prime location and that the motion will not be bad. I have checked everywhere for info on that. our only other cruise we had an ocean view mid ship on the next to lowest deck. I didn't think it was bad at all but was (am) a little nervous about being so high and aft. Your post helped!! Just curious why this is the best side of the ship??

Happy cruising.

I never know which is the best side as far as when you dock.

Norweigen will be new to me. I'm not sure if I will like the freestyle cruising or not. Also, I like the formal nights which I guess Norweigen doesn't really have.

I have a phone call into my TA asking if there was anything available on deck nine. Glad to hear someone else is apprehensive on being up so high.

at most ports, you can't tell which will be the best side to be on...they move the ships in and out to fit the direction of the wind, which spot on the docks..one time you may face one directions and they may turn the ship the next time..same port/dock.

some people like looking at the docks, while in port, others...like me..enjoy the ocean views.

Well we booked today. I think we could have gone down to level nine but most of the ones (I think) are either booked or something is above it that we don't want to be. My TA is checking into it though.
