IslandToIsland Posted April 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2008 I've looked on the Florida departure thread and not many responses there from people asking the same question. I'm looking for a decent, not too expensive hotel in Port Canaveral. I know the Radisson is right there, but looking for other suggestions. Thanks! volfan32` Posted April 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2008 I would be interested in Port Canaveral Hotels, as well.....If I have the names, I can look up the amenities online. Which hotels cater to the port? Thank you in advance. Volfan
snelsonbrown Posted April 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2008 I've looked on the Florida departure thread and not many responses there from people asking the same question. I'm looking for a decent, not too expensive hotel in Port Canaveral. I know the Radisson is right there, but looking for other suggestions. Thanks! Here is so links for you - I am sure you will find something in here that will fit your needs. As always Shirley Closest Hotels to Port Canaveral All below 3 Cape Canaveral hotels are about 2 miles from the port and offer rooms with a view of the port, where you will be able to see the cruise ships in the morning. Be sure and sign up for the port shuttles. None of these 3 hotels are on the beach nor is it within walking distance of the beach (5 min cab ride). If you want the beach close, look for a hotel in Cocoa Beach – beachfront hotels are posted further down. Radisson Website: http://www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl Beginning July 9 2007 Radisson will officially offer free transportation for guests – the Area will be the Port, Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, Merritt Square Mall and free transportation (to and from) and highly discounted tickets to Kennedy Space Center. Free cruise parking with an overnight stay Breakfast buffet for $9.95, some higher rates include breakfast Radisson webcam (points to the port): http://www.radissonport.com/CruiseShips.htm ROOM INFORMATION PER REQUEST None of the rooms will give you an ocean view since they are several blocks from the ocean. The standard rooms are only 2 stories. the suite buildings are 3 stories. For standard rooms and either the 200 or 400 building for suites. The 200 building is closer to the pool although the pool area may get quite noisy so if you want a quiet area request courtyard view. The most favorite rooms are in the 800 building 2nd floor facing the pool. Be aware that most of the pool side rooms are king rooms. There are just a few rooms with 2 beds facing the pool. Due to the construction of high rise condo's, there are very few rooms that will give you small views of the ships unfortunalty none have a wide open view of the port any more. MESSAGE FROM JOE P. GENERAL MANAGERThe Cruise package includes breakfast and is available at all times We do shuttle any hotel guest to the port And at times we do offer discounts on rooms available on the internet and have special conditions such as no refund and prepayment BE AWARE THAT THE RADISSON IS GOING TO BE A NON SMOKING HOTEL AND NO LONGER HAVE SMOKING ALLOWED ROOMS. THERE WILL BE COMFORT AREAS FOR THOSE THAT WISH TO SMOKE. Country Inn and Suites Website: http://www.countryinns.com/capecanaveralfl $3 shuttle to the port (Cocoa Beach Shuttle). Some rates may offer free shuttle. Great and best thing offered is a free continental breakfast Offers rates with park and cruise but it’s been confirmed that you can leave your car without paying for a park and cruise rate. Kelly Hutchinson is your GM there and a sweetie to work with if you have any issues, questions etc. Another place which is high on my recommendation list Marriott Residence Inn Website: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mlbri $3 shuttle to the port (Cocoa Beach Shuttle). Free cruise parking with an overnight stay Complimentary full hot breakfast buffet and nightly social hour (Mon-Thurs) with complimentary light dinner, beer and wine. ( the complimentary light dinner are hors d'oeuvres except for Wednesday and then it is manager's cookout with hot dogs and hamburger) Other Hotels that have been recommended on forum: Most other hotels will let you leave your car but call and double check. For instance, Wakulla Suites will not let you leave your car. The GM is Pat Looney if you have a problem Courtyard by Marriott Holiday Inn Express (not to be confused with the Holiday Inn) - 5775 N Atlantic Ave (A1A) in Cocoa Beach. 321-868-2525. logbook Posted April 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2008 We just stayed at the Hollywood LaQuinta a couple weeks ago. It was very reasonable and extremely clean. The only downside, is there is no restaurant there. You CAN walk to a few places in about 10 minutes - easy walk - but there is nothing on site. They DO have a continental breakfast in the morning, with quite a large selection of food. It worked out good for us. They have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel... and then from the hotel to the port. Nice quiet, clean place!
suezyq50 Posted April 13, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2008 We have stayed at the Residence Inn and the Country Inn and Suites. Both were fine and will stay again at either one.

Volfan Hello Volfan If you will go to this thread simply due to the fact it is all about Port Canaveral, it will hold all the answers you will need to come over here. It was start by Preston (Psbcap) and again it has a wealth of information. Glad I could help http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=436720 As always Shirley

steffie Posted April 14, 2008 #11 Share Posted April 14, 2008 We have always stayed at the Cocoa Beach Oceanside Inn. It has always been clean and the people friendly. Right next to the pier and on the beach. Takes about 10 minutes or so to get to the Port.
