On Sunday morning we took one last look at the ships in port from Intercontinental. Aftwards we loaded up and went to Royal Palm on South Beach;

That's the guy who was at Hard Rock Cafe and he was performing at AA Arena and not the Carnival Center (Missed his name in this pic);

Terrific pics! And you just had to throw one in there of me, didn't ya!

It was great meeting you and Karen. Maybe someday we can all Cruise again and spend time together.

Did you see where my crazy Husband left me to go on a 3 day Cruise without me?

How is your burn? I am peeling like MAD! My Mom's feet are peeling and still are swollen! Crazy!

Take Care!

Wendy of WENNFRED

Wendy,

LOL, yeah I did.

Fred is a cruising maniac that's for sure.

We're going again in June so book your flight and come with us for your solo cruise! We'll be sure and send pics to keep Fred occupied. :D

My burn was better by Saturday. My feet were swollen bad on Thursday and Friday evening but the swelling was gone by Saturday also. I had to shave my head to get rid of the peeling on my scalp....I may still be bald for our June cruise. :o

Your pictures and review are great! I have enjoyed your adventures and also Fred's.

I want to thank you for mentioning burned feet - i don't believe it would have occurred to me to cover up or lather them up with sunscreen.

We are cruising in June also & can't wait.

We checked all our luggage with the Bellman at Royal Palm then walked to Jerry's Famous Deli for lunch;

The spagheti looks like one serving, but it will serve four adults easily and it tastes great;

We had plenty of left overs;

BettyPC,

Thank you.

I never thought about it either....I sure did think about it afterwards though.

Our room at Royal Palm was on the fifteenth floor;

And the view from the balcony was considerably better than at the Intercontinental;

Wow. I very much enjoyed your review. I can't wait for my cruise on her!

You have a funny and witty way of writing

nothomeonacruise,

Thank you.

My feet were completely back to normal by Sunday;

And I was able to enjoy the ocean again;

As well as the steady stream of ships going out to sea;

One last look down the beach at the Carnival ship going out to sea. While they're fun to watch, it's a lot more fun to be on them!;

And a last look from out balcony;

Karen had to check out the street vendors on South Beach;

After some sunset shopping for last minute gifts, we headed back to the Royal Palm;

2279408610065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

We had a 7:00 flight out of FLL back to WV and Victor from Larry's Limo was right on time at 4:58 to pick us up for the ride to the airport;

2067659300065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

The boys were quite a bit more subdued than on our previous rides;

2754599470065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

Victor dropped us off right outside of our terminal / checkin area and loaded our luggage on a sky cap cart. The sky cap checked us in and allowed us to avoid a long line and head straight through security to our gait;

2295072440065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

After a smooth ride home on Allegiant air we arrived in WV in shorts with the temperature a cool 34 degrees! (We got a lot of odd looks in the airport);

Again, I have to say you have a very lovely family.

Sorry Paul, but I don't think your feet were ever normal!

Some of those pictures are totally fantastic. Especially the ships going out of the harbor and the one of your feet should be made into a poster!:)

Victor from Larry's Limo. Victor was always on time, always called just prior to his arrival and he made our trip much more enjoyable. You can tell when someone enjoys their job by how much pride they take in speaking of their company and the service they offer. We'll definately be requesting Victor for our cruises in June;

2911079540065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

Martina from the Posh dinning room. You could tell that excellent service was her forte and that it was second nature for her. Carnival would do well to keep Martina coming back. She's on her 8th contract with Carnival now and I hope to see her on our future cruises;

2963199080065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

Porter 150 at Port of Miami. I know it's not a good pic, but take a good look at him (On the right) and avoid him if you can. If you can't avoid him, then be sure and warn him that he's now a famous man and that cruise ship pax from all over the world are aware of his activity;

2987087460065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

Porter 150's cousin the cab driver in St Thomas. You don't have to avoid her, but don't bother talking to her and do plan to plug your ears if you don't want to listen to a bitter woman. The good thing about riding with her is you'll not feel guilty for only giving her the 'company's money.';

WennFred.

I really enjoyed reading Fred's Live from Freedom thread while cruising with him. Given that I spent most of my time on my balcony, Fred kept me posted along with all of you with what was happening elsewhere.

I have to give kudos to Wendy as well. Any woman who comes home from a cruise and sends their husband away on a solo cruise is definately worthy of praise!

2026299620065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

And last but not least, Karen and the boys really had a good time and made my trip an unforgettable memory for me;

2002698230065094172S600x600Q85.jpg

Thank you all for your kind comments and for putting up with my quirky posting style and my hundreds of pics of things you never thought you'd have to see.

I have a lot more pics that I never uploaded to webshots so if there's something you want to see, post here and I'll upload it if I have it.

Thank you for sharing all of the pictures, I enjoyed seeing them and reading all of our posts!!

If you have one of the choc. buffet, will you post it? I can't wait until May until I get to see it and try it all for myself again!!

Hurricane Girl,

Bryson took the pics of the Chocolate / Gala Buffet. My feet were too sore to walk anymore that night. Lucky for me they did bring me some great chocolate samples back to the room. Here's some of the pics he took;

I think he concentrated more on the seafood and meat than the chocolate, but luckily he only brought chocolate back to the room;

Thank you!! We had the Choc. buffet on the Glory. They did it on one of the sea days, I think that it went from noon until 3:00 up on the Lido deck. They had two lines going and had nothing but choc. on them...It was WONDERFUL!!!! :D

Hurricane Girl,

Yeah the chocolate buffet on Glory was great. Here's some pics I took of Glory's buffet from last April;

Great photos and love reading this post....it is HUGE! We ate a Jerry's Deli while in SB a year ago March. We were at the Richmond Hotel and ate at Jerry's one night. We thought it was pretty good and the price and portions excellent. As you know, SB restaurants are expensive and Jerry's is reasonable!

Paul,

thank you so much for sharing your cruise with me! I'm so sad that it is over.

You have a wonderful family.

Between you and Fred I feel like I could almost add the Freedom the to list of ships I've been on :D

Thanks again! I have really enjoyed it.

Paul,I wish to thank you and your family for helping to cement my chosen desire to take the Freedom for our Panama cruise. The pictures are fantastic, showing a ship that I can hardly wait to see in person. And because your son made the French Toast look so good, I will try some.

Thank You

I forgot to mention earlier that our stay in St Thomas had been extended until 10:30 so they could perform some maintenance prior to the Atlantic crossing in two weeks.

Glad to see that they got the maintenance out of the way. We are taking our first cruise on Carnival (after about 20 on Princess and about 5 on others) on the April 26th transatlantic. Have really enjoyed your review. Especially since we have cabin 6483 (an aft wrap that should be a mirror image of yours on the other side of the upper deck). I think we have a total of about 9 sea days to enjoy that balcony. Really looking forward to it.
