Port Canaveral...when you fly in a day early, where do you stay?

Recommended Posts

We also stayed at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront Resort at Cocoa Beach. Hubby is a member of whatever their rewards program is...anyhoo, it got us a free appetizer at dinner (kids ate free), plus an additional 10% off the cost of the meals or anything else we bought while there....AND free breakfast for two adults (and again kids ate free)...and shuttle to/from the port. The kids enjoyed the "kid suite" and our only real complaint was that the AC didn't get cold enough for my hubby's liking...

Sunlover58, yes after the cruise we took the Budget shuttle back to Budget. When you get off the ship walk across the parking area (directly in front of you) and there will be shuttles (vans) there from almost every rental place, just hop on the one you have rented a car thru and they will take you to the rental location. There are a few of the rental companies that do not have shuttles (Naitonal for one) but the majority do. There aren't any rental places close to the pier, they are all along the road from Cocoa Beach going toward the pier (not much of a distance at all). It was only about a ten minute drive from the hotel to the port. If I can answer any other questions for you I would be glad to.:)

Nice to know....because of this thread I figured out how I wanted to do our Sept Glory cruise.

There are 7 of us meeting at the airport and we have rooms at the Radisson.

After making a few calls I went with Budget. I was able to get a 7 passenger mini van and a suv(Escape) for $180($105/$75) for the day we fly down, and I have a 12 passenger van booked for the return to the airport $148.

I wanted extra room in case a couple more join us(from the roll call) and having 2 vehicles the night of the hotel will be nice for scooting around to dinner/shopping.

My sil and I stayed at the new Country Inn & Suites right at the port. We left our car and they took us to the ship. It is now two years old but would definitely stay there again. Like the above poster Radission is great but this was newer. Have fun
