Things to do while in Ft Lauderdale-Post Cruise?

We have a 4 PM Flight from FLL on the afternoon that we arrive back into Miami (Valor).

 

Expect to be off ship around 9 AM. Expect to use Express Luggage that is offered through Carnival/Delta. Have transportation arranged to FLL Airport through Carnival.

 

Any suggestions of things to do in or around Ft.Lauderdale for the day?

we just did the water taxi tour-12.00pp and it was very nice. You can get on and off to eat or do whatever. We had a couple great guides who told us a lot, and there were some beautiful homes there!!!

After we got off the ship we did the everglades tour and enjoyed that too!! It didn't take too long to get there, but we had rented a car!!

I agree with Sunlover....arrange to rent a car in Miami that you can drop at FLL. ($35-45) that way you will have transportation, save time and $$$. The water taxi is a good idea.

You can go to Bayside and hang out for a while. If you do rent a car drive around downtown Miami and take in the sights.

Just off the Valor a couple of weeks ago, and we also flew out of FLL and used Luggage Express.

 

We got dropped off at the Las Olas shopping area in Ft. Lauderdale, which is a nice area. Things don't really open on Sunday until around 11 am, though. We just walked up the walkway along the canal and ended up at the Carrie B sightseeing tour boat. We took a 2 hour tour around the waterways of Ft. Lauderdale and saw some gorgeous homes, saw the cruise ships in port ~ it was a nice way to kill a couple hours. Then we went and had lunch at Cheesecake Factory (right near the Carrie B). There is a movie theater at the Las Olas shopping center also.

Another idea, the beaches there are great! Parasailing ,sunning, swimming etc.

Walking the Broadwalk at Hollywood Beach is very nice.

I agree with the Los Olas stroll. Have lunch at Cafe de Paris and people watch, go thru the shops, take a water taxi, etc. We love that part of Ft. Lauderdale!:)

For a 4 o clock flight, you'll need to get to the airport around 2.

 

Getting off the ship at 9, you have to allow for an hour (considering traffic) to get to Fort Lauderdale.

 

Basically you have from 10-2. You can do a bit in 4 hours. We love the water taxi and its very relaxing. That gives you time for a nice leisurely lunch on the beach or along Las Olas, too.
