Transfer deposit?

Does anyone know if Carnival will transfer a deposit that would otherwise be forfeited to another new booking instead?

As long as you are not in the penalty phase, it should be no problem. I transferred a cruise at the last min. just before the penalty phase started, from a 5 night to a 7 night at a different port and incurred no charges, other than the slight difference in price.
