Stupid Questions = Stupid Answers

After my last 3 cruises, I have remembered some of the dumb things both sailing people, and non-sailing people have asked. Here are a few I remember now, so join in and post your own!!!

1. Do those stairs go up? Well, it depends if you want to...

2. Do they have electricity on those ships? No, at night, we just start bon fires...

3. How do they have electricity? Real long extension cords...

4. Do the pools have water in them? Not at all, we just act like we are swimming...

5. Do the ships ever run out of fuel? Nope, we stop at the service stations in the oceans...

6. Do you have to drink salt water? Of course, that's why everyone stays at the bars!!!

7. Can you go out on the balconies? Nope, too dangerous, we just pay more to say we had it...

8. How many people fall off the boat? We don't count them...

9. Are there fish in the water? Not at all. They leave unless we pay them to see them...

10. How many sharks have you seen? In the casino???

While looking for your pictures in the Photo Gallery, you say "Which ones are mine"

A lady called the Pursers Deck very excited and wanted to know how she could get out of her Cabin, she stated that there were 2 doors, one takes you into the bathroom and the other says Do Not Distrub on it.

Has anyone ever sailed on (Ship name here)?

Nope, it's been sailing for 2 years now and not 1 passenger has ever been on the ship. "Here's your sign" :D

Has anyone ever stayed in cabin (cabin number here)?

Nope, the ship has been sailing for 5 years now and not one passenger has ever stayed in that cabin. "Here's your sign" :D

What time is the midnight Buffet??

Does the crew live onboard?

What is the quickest way off the ship?

Uncorrect answer: JUMP OFF

Are there clubs / bars onboard ?

Is this ship bigger than the TITANIC ?

(I think even the Holiday is, or at least the same size)

Seriously, I am not stupid, but I do not get the Denver joke.

Have you ever watched TV on a Carnival Cruise and seen local TV programming? They show Denver TV and the OP lives in Denver, so they want to know if all passengers are able to see their local TV in their room.

I have to admit, my last cruise I never turned the tv on until the very last day. When I saw my local 5 p.m. news on, my first thought was, what the heck?! I never asked anyone about it but that same day the CD was telling a joke about people asking about local TV. Of course, saw the full explanation here later. :D

You mean the dining room is open for dinner more than just on formal nights?

Last cruise couple sitting at a table for 2 by us only showed up for dinner in the Pacific dining room on the Victory for the two formal nights. Over heard them saying how good the food was compared to what they'd eaten the other nights. So upon walking out at the same time we exchanged comments about the food and great wait service. So I took the opportunity to ask why they'd chosen to only come to the dining room on formal nights. I kid you not, they thought those were the only nights they could come to the dining room  Of coarse my next comment, trying to hold my hysterical laughter, was "first cruise?" The last evening they were already sitting at their table before we arrived !

Crewmember: "We fill the pool with seawater."

Passenger: "That explains why the pool is so choppy."

Passenger to Purser at embarkation: "I paid extra for an ocean view and all I can see is a warehouse and a parking lot."

Not to flame anyone, but except for the Denver TV I heard every one of these on Sitmar's Fairwind oh...'bout 25 years ago. Of course that hasn't stopped me from using them repeatedly.

I would suspect they show Denver local TV because DirecTV is based in the Denver area.
