Emerald Princess Caribe 402 & 406

We are considering the Emerald Princess on March 10, 2009 and the TA has suggested Caribe Deck, cabin 402 & 406. Has anyone stayed in these cabins before? We want to be able to open the two balconies to share the space. There looks like there is a hallway door between 402 & 328. Would that be noisy? We wondered what is in the big open space near the inside cabins from 328 to the laundry.

If you have any thoughts, we'd appreciate hearing them.

Usually you can have the cabin steward open the pass-thru door on the balcony between the two cabins. Note that this is just a panel about 20 " wide, which is locked in place for the duration of the trip, either open or closed as you wish. It is not a door that you can open and close at will, nor is it removal of the full partition. When locked open, the door does block a portion of the slider/window, but most folks just pull the drape to cover that section. (You probably knew this already, but sometimes it comes as a surprise to folks.)

The hall door is a fire door--which is usually kept open. Sometimes, not always, these doors will be closed in the early morning hours to keep the cabin hallways quiet. I have been in a room adjacent to one of these doors and did not notice any bothersome noise from the location.

The white area is a crew support area. Most likely it will be used by the housekeeping staff and stewards for laundry, linens, supply storage, etc.

I hope that helps. :)
