ice cream machine on RCCL Monarch of the Sea

Can anyone who has been on the Monarch recently tell me if they have reinstalled the soft serve ice cream machines?? We were on board last August and they had all been removed much to my son's disappointment.:(

Nothing better than getting a choc chip cookie from the buffet and then swirling some soft serve over it! LOL :D

I was on Monarch last week and looked for the ice cream machine. If they do have one, it is well hidden in an area I don't know about.

Monarch doesn't have an ice cream machine onboard. I don't know about Enchantment.

While on Mariner recently, our head waiter discussed the soft-serve yogurt machine situation with us after I told him there should be two or three more on board to shorten the endless lines.

He said that many of the ships are reducing the number or eliminating them because they're the one place where passengers serve their own food. One passenger with some illness touches the handle. Then another grabs the handle, switches hands while making a second cone and you've got an outbreak waiting to happen. And we've all heard how much fun those can be on board.

Makes sense, though I wonder if the problem couldn't be solved by having a staffer serve it.

Last year on the Caribbean Princess they usually had a member of staff serving the ice cream in the afternoon.

 

That would seem to be a solution that would keep everyone happy (and healthy!)
