Anytime dining - large table question

We will be on our first cruise in July. We are doing Alaska southbound on Princess. We have chosen the anytime dining so that we can eat when we are hungry instead of when the clock says its time.

If we choose a table for 6 or 8 people will we wait until everyone is seated at our table before ordering or is everyone at the table eating at different times?

They waited until everyone was seated. They didn't always fill all the seats, but they did wait.

My DW and I are confirmed for Traditional Dining, late seating on the Island Princess in October, 2008. We are at a table for 6.

Will they wait until all are seated before they serve us at Traditional Dining as well?

Will they keep our table mates waiting for us to show up at dinner when we go to Sabatini's or Bayou Cafe on one night?

Or keep us waiting, for that matter, if our table mates also go to Sabatini's?

The tables fill up pretty quickly, but we have found the meal takes a lot longer with a larger table. We've found you the whole process moves much more smoothly at a table for two or four.

Boiler cruiser - If you are not going to be at traditional dining just give dining room a call or stop by and let them know you will not be dining with your table mates. That way no one is left waiting.

Coffee - If you join others for anytime the tables fillup quickly and everyone eats at the same time at that table.

We always let our waitstaff know the evening before if we have a specialty rest booked when we have traditional.

If you opt to sit at a larger table in AD, they fill the table quickly from the people entering without prior bookings, if you want to have a quick meal ask for a table for your party if available else you are waiting for all courses to be served.

Table for 8 works well--there's always enough people that you can enjoy some of the other diners--or better yet all of them--anytime dining can sometimes be a surprise--you could be at a large table and they will take your order soon--in some cases HAVE FUN ON YOUR CRUISE
